Son of a B!t-h.  Great story and even better score.  Congrats on taking advantage of the " window of opportunity".  The window is only open for so long, either jump or play what if.  You are so right with the stick-burner and different animal behavior.  You will either embrace it or wonder "why did I go down this road."  Here's to the former.
Haha! Thanks! @lousubcap I knew I'd regret it if I didn't jump on it. I'll probably be bugging you for some tips down the road on how this thing works.

Thanks! @Focker Yeah Craigslist is one of my downfalls. I'm a sucker for a good deal. I hardly buy anything retail if I can find something used and in good condition. I'm a cheap sob! ;)

Congrats that's the size I have been looking for. Think that was posted on the bretheren also would have been tempting if it was closer.
Thanks! @Lit You're right about it being listed on the Brethren. He mentioned to me he was a member over there. The previous owner is looking for a vertical smoker now to save on some room.

That's a score.. I was the same way trolling CL for different smokers. I came across a backwoods fat boy G2 all the way here in Seattle.
picked it up on a trailer similar to
you paid less than half price for an almost new smoker.

    great find and enjoy!
@SkinnyV Thanks! Congrats on your score! It's sounds like we were in the same situation. Not much available for smokers and had to jump on the opportunity when one did show up. Fun times!

    Very nice find!

I'm sure you'll have fun learning to use that and playing with real fire.

If I was in the market for such a thing Shirley Fab is definitely who would be getting my money.

Dude you should be a writer. You tell a really good story. Big big congrats on the purchase too! When you get time, would you mind taking some measurements? Firebox w/l/h, smoker chamber diameter/ length, reverse flow?, firebox to chamber opening size? Seriously I'd love to pick your brain a little, as I'm building a similar smoker.
Thanks! @Jeremiah I tend to go on, and on, and on, with my stories. I don't do social media so this is my online entertainment. I even find myself skipping over what I write! =) I'm excited to see what you come up with on the smoker!

Thanks! @Eggdicted_Dawgfan I'm going to do a little more research as stick burners are completely new too me. Hopefully get something tossed on this weekend.

@WeberWho - you may want to reach out to @CTMike as he recently took possession of a huge SF rig.  Have fun with the sticks.

Congrats on the great find and I wish I had some grills or something to sell to get stick burner.  All though I would have to clean out the garage to make room for it.

I wish I had the cash for this one I just found on CL.  Maybe some day.

That's awesome buddy. Congrats on a great find. Selling some of those eggs was the smart move. You don't need that many units. Can wait to live vicariously through you as you transition to the Shirley
Thanks! @DoubleEgger I think the value should hold and if not a little better than a Big Green Egg if I were to sell down the road. It made the decision a little easier. I will continue to live vicariously though you as I don't own a late 60's Camaro. ;)

Great story. I'm happy for you. I hope you have a great source of fire wood. That would be my biggest problem.
Thanks! @SaintJohnsEgger My buddy just dropped two big oaks that he split. He said that I can fill my truck bed up anytime. My parents also want to drop one their 100' oak trees. I'll probably need to invest in a chain saw and splitter

Holy. Sh!t. Talk about a score. The boss lady occasionally harps on me about selling off a few grills. I gladly would to make room for a Shirley.
Thanks! @caliking The wife pokes fun at me with all the grills. I'm hoping to get down to six grills when all said and done. Except this grill takes up more room than the other four grills I'm looking to move!

I am not selling my eggs ever. If I ever had more than 3, I could see trading the 4th and 5th for a quality offset though. I think you made a great trade, enjoy that offset.
Thanks much! @ibanda I never imagined selling them either. The two I sold just didn't get used often enough. The one small was actually never used. I sold the XL to my friend that has two larges. (Just sold one of the larges to get the XL) It will see some good use. I'm glad someone else will enjoy the other small that would be collecting dust otherwise. My large and small eggs see 90% of my cooks. So I don't feel like I'm losing out too much but will still be missed
