As of now, 3 of the 6 remaining teams in the tournament are SEC. The WCC has as many teams in the tournament as the ACC or the PAC 12.

Pretty amazing showing for what I thought was a football conference.  I guess they're still trying to make up for Alabama's loss in the national championship.
Nothing will ever soothe that wound for the tide rollers.
I am still scratching my head on the entire seeding process, and the media experts consistently being so wrong.
I have to admit, I knew the SEC was very strong this year, but I did not think they would have shown this well in the tournament, I suppose I too, bought into some of the bias that was so common this year.
I think it is still too early to be an indication of what the future may become of SEC basketball, but it does seem to be encouraging, as of now.
By the way, Bill Self at Kansas, entered this tournament with his 5th number 1 seed, and, as each of the other 4 before this year, failed to get them to the final four. This has to be a record of some sort. Especially painful for the Jayhawk fans, essentially playing at home.

It's a single elimination tournament Ron. I'd caution against drawing broad conclusions based on small number statistics.

Do you find it odd that the head of NCAA is from the SEC? Dude is doing things the wrong way, especially to UNC. Wainsteien report had Roy clean bro.

This is true, but these teams are very young.
In the tournament, I am convinced it is about how the players match up to one another, but even with the extremely small pool of which to gather data, three teams left, speaks well of how far they had come.
I know little of college basketball. This I admit freely. My reasoning was this year's recruiting class was the highest rated at UK, since Calipari arrived (Higher than the Anthony Davis class that won the tournament).
It was a struggle, most every game, in the SEC for UK.
It had to be due to the fact the league improved their programs, or UK had been falling back.
Simple as it may seem, I knew something special was happening, and the indication from the tea leaves, I had been reading, seemed to reveal the former, rather than the latter.
I dunno. Are they Lucky? Maybe. But the fact remains, they are still playing, deep into this tournament.
    Enjoying it while it lasts.

In defense of the teams in the SEC and their scandals, it is difficult to imagine any of the schools in the SEC to top Louisville, an ACC school.
Louisville, in case you forgot,  has admitted paying for under aged prostitutes, in the recruiting of basketball prospects, for sexually perverted parties while supplying alcohol to minors during their on campus visits, in the men's basketball dorm at Minardi Hall. (It was named for Pitino's brother in law, which he lost during 911)
Further Pitino paid for an abortion on a fling he had after hours, on a table in an Italian restaurant, with his ex coach's wife, which later tried to extort him for money. Real classy institution, huh? Do not even get me started on Petrino, the football coach.
I think the ACC has pretty much locked up, the morals and ethics championship category, right there.
So spare me the innocence of the ACC.
The ACC now has the worst example of cheating in college sports, in the history of the NCAA. This ugly example, of rules breaking, involved all basketball players, specifically to those that won the 2013 championship, and the years prior and after.

I do love my Gamecocks and I am so proud of what our basketball team has done this year, but let's not kid about the SEC and basketball. The only way anyone knows basketball in the SEC is Kentucky (and I hate them). All that said. Go Gamecocks!!!

This was obviously bad behavior learned in the Big East. Don't forget we didn't get them until first part of 2013- took us a couple years to begin to shine them up

If you're looking for a Duke athletics team to hold up as an example of bad behavior, there are probably better options.  Those kids really didn't do anything wrong in the big scheme of things, and while pop culture hasn't exonerated them, the legal system has and then some.

Having strippers at a party, throwing out racial slurs and threatening sodomy with a broom stick aren't the types of behavior I want to see out of my kids.

The only part of what you wrote that's established fact is that they had a party and invited strippers.  But I know, trafficking in innuendo is all the rage, especially when applied to wealthy white kids.

I'm also trying to get over the fact that a North Carolina vs South Carolina NCAA final is a distinct possibility.  I'm sure CBS would call that game "CIVIL WAR TWO!"
