Don't worry about the wildfires in California, the mud slides will put them out.
Serious bad yet great weather for Northern California, getting through the drought and killer snow piles. That place has been a tinder box for YEARS. As bad as the weather is, it is needed to fill reservoirs. Hoping the folks are there are safe and remain so.

Gotta admit that on the first pass I thought LA as in the land of fruits and nuts.  I have finally figured out it's about the twisters moving thru LA and MS.

Small one around Airline Hwy and a larger one reported out east.  Overall, a fairly minor event.

Could've been, looks like some light rain today in Los Angeles, this can be a serious with socal drivers and such.

The bad thing is this is a warm storm so now it's raining on all the snow & the reservoirs are full so no where for the water to go. The river that's about 1/4 mile from me is running very high. My house is about 10 feet below the water level. I wish that I still had my boat.

I seem to forget from living in the south so long that LA could have a reference to the left bank!  DOH!!!

Here it would either be Lousiana or Lower Alabama...

Either way sounds like Eastern New Orleans had some damage, storms still moving through the Redneck Riviera (AKA MS.) and heading into "The Other LA"

I will amend this to acknowledge that the tornado out east did some pretty bad damage.  Thankfully, no fatalities reported.

NOLA proper is OK.

The whole west coast has had crazy weather the past few months, snow in Portland, Seattle and even here in Lotus Land. We have not had any snow to speak of for three years, started in early December and it is still going strong - the postman is thinking positive, by February, they usually wear shorts.

Everything is fine for me and mine, but if you google tornado in elmwood you will see a twister in the parking lot next to the office where my wife works. It blew a transformer but doesn't seem to have done any other damage

We got 7 confirmed tornadoes.   25 people injured in the New Orleans East twister.   Thankfully no one killed.
