Arizona held out for a few years on recognizing that holiday.

Reviewing historical events from a modern perspective is interesting. It is amazing how morals and acceptable behavior changes over time.Maybe your purpose in life is only to serve as an example for others? - LPL

@nolaegghead your presence so early in this thread skeered folks from sharing their MLK cooks.

I'm sorry. I'm really not a skeery person. I'm loaded full to the brim with love and empathy.

No doubt that General Lee would get the nod from many.
Not sure, though, that The Donnie has enough Ruskiphiles about.
Besides, The Donnie would most likely forward his own birthday for national reverence.
There are about 63 million American voters gullible enough to go along with that idea.

Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.
Status- Standing by.
The greatest barrier against all wisdom, the stronghold against knowledge itself, is the single thought, in ones mind, that they already have it all figured out. -

But you have a good point.

I'm pulling an all-nighter with my son (taking shifts) feeding the sitckburner as we try to cook a brisket. And we'll probably cook something else on MLK day proper.
Happy MLK day to everyone.XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle

No cooking for me on MLK Day. I will be in Hartford for the final day of a three day volleyball tournament. But in the vacinity of the Expo Center is Bear's BBQ. It has the reputation of being best in the state. I may get to test that depending on game schedules.
