I went deer hunting at a friend's hunting club yesterday. Inside the clubhouse there is a board where everyone writes down what you killed. One guy logged that he killed an 80 pound "dough".

Spelling, fancee words, apostrophys I'm aight wit...but my dezire to right and type full sentences, and using proper caps, punkshuation, took a critical hit when becoming a nurse.
One tends to weed out all of the unnecessary, long-winded, BS.

I agree with that actually. It's a position I hold myself.
I am for clarity and expression really. And if it comes down to it, maybe expression first.
A good example is Joyce. Broke every 'rule' at some point, but was perfectly understandable when he wanted to make sure you knew what he was saying. He played all sides of it, as long as it helped express what he was trying to say. Certainly knew his grammar and spelling and vocab. But knew when to loosen it up too
