First Ham

Cooked at 300 for 2.5 hours.
Apple wood chunks
Pineapple juice left over from the canned fruit mixed with brown sugar
Basted the ham several times
Then put the slices on and basted them too.
Nice candy shell on the outside.

Do most of you cook your hams in a cast iron skillet?

Very interesting.  I've yet to try a ham.  Great looking pics.  How did it taste?

Tasted very good, picked at a piece on the back. The outside hardened with a thin shell of pineapple/brown sugar glaze the bottom didn't get brown but thats ok. Will cut it up tomorrow for Xmas Eve buffet table. Need to figure out the best way to sit it since it's not a fancy spiral ham.   :)

It looks great and it appears you did very well.  That is a very creative cook.  Those sweet glazes are always a challenge.  Nobody needs fancy ...

Thanks, very simple, juice from canned pineapples, enough brown sugar to make a thin syrup and just drizzled it over everything every 20 minutes
