Arctic Ice vs Yeti vs Cheap Os

I'm looking to buy a few ice packs for the Yeti Roadie and Hopper. Are the expensive ice packs worth the money? $60-70 for ice packs seems crazy. Just looking for packs to keep drinks etc cold for the day. Not going on an expedition anytime soon.

I use old medical Ice packs. Much cheaper, lasts a long time, cost is much lower. I have also used partially filled water water bottles frozen. Works great keeps things cold all day."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

One season in, my Arctic Ice Chillin Brews have payed for themselves. 2 XLs for each 35qt Pelican. If it's longer than a weekend, then I add ice or use frozen water bottles.
Nice to grab and go from the freezer.
And even nicer to go waterless.BrandonQuad Cities

Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.
Status- Standing by.

Wow, fake ice seems expensive.
I've got 8 of these. They moved with me to America - so they are at minimum 21 years old. I'm sure I didn't pay more that 3 bucks each for them - still use them daily.

They work that well? No ice needed for a weekend? Just these and they will keep drinks ice cold?Apollo Beach, FL -
Buy the cheap stuff. That Yeti Ice is not going to make your food taste better or stay colder.

I've got a couple igloo max ice packs that work well. Thanks for confirming my initial thought. I'll find some on sale somewhere now that summer is over.

I'd have sold that while it still had tags on it to a yeti fan.
Full disclosure, I'm drinking out of a yeti lowball as I type.

Some may not know this but @bgebrent @nolaegghead and I grew up together. I'm the guy on the right.

I totally understand buying a $500 coat when a $50 coat will keep you as warm. I don't understand the $300 underwear though.______________________________________________I love lamp..

I'm sure it makes sense to some. And it's your money and you should spend it so it makes you happy.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Back on topic, I know, a buzzkill for a few..
Before the Chillin Brews I contemplated these cooler packs. May even pick up some for my rtic soft 20 lunch pack. They are dry. Just add water, iron seam.
