Do not PM him. And it's way more than a few minutes and every option is over $1000. You are better off buying a half hog from the "man seeking hog for long term relationship" (it's real, don't Judge me) area of Craigslist. I PM'd him once. It has not gone well.
Always the hater.  For the record, The Hairy Hog Club for Men has been on budget from Day 1, so if you are creeping on Craigslist for porcine companionship, don't blame me.

However, I have developed some thoughts on how/where to find different breeds of pig for when the wiser minds finally cave, and we start raising a batch for next fall.  I am just trying to be helpful in spending other people's money, as always.

I don't know about "wiser minds", but we have recognized that when Centex feels compelled to be the brake man, the train is already off the track.

You would do well to recognize this @Space_City_Egger

(I do have to admit that it's been a really fun ride so far)

@20stone does have the inside track to all kinds of quality meat in the H-town area though.

Miney and Moe converting organic grain to sausage....
    Thanks for the post.
I enjoyed your initial post on butchering and this was equally entertaining.  Next time you two move the pigs in garbage cans, please have someone film it!

I just realized that I was targeted for this. 20stone spotted me as a guy who  isn't very smart with money when it comes to opportunities to have some good father/son time (that's right, I subjected my 19 year old son to this).

It's not that we're being BAD with money, we are just making a huge effort to spend a bit more money for a better (except for the belly) product, while fostering bonding, keistering, pyromania, and bestiality-related humor... and the drinking, that too.

I'll pay extra to opt out of the keistering...

  • Somewhat related. I've been interested in 1/2 a hog. To be fair I want to just buy and not raise or process, I'm not interested in ranch life (yeah accounting), any recommendations are appreciated from what appears to be an experienced crew.
Space City Egger, PM me Niece and Nephew will have some ready to go around christmas.

I think he was referring to my son's proclivity to provide us with geographically remote beer.
