Very first job interview, late phase in the process, the CEO and the manager of HR wanted to meet me and talk over dinner. They left it to me to choose the location. The city I lived in at the time had a real popular steakhouse. Everyone went there for celebrations, family meals, major events.
Pristine environment always, clean and starched were the shirts, and table linens. The interview was going great, the CEO and I shared a tremendous amount of common ground.
About halfway into the meal, a roach the size of scooby do ran across the table.
The interview wrapped up early (immediately) after that.
Never went back. Job was offered to someone else.

@Lit, did you grow up in Orlando?

No grew up in Stuart Florida but went to UCF so lived in Orlando for about 10 yrs.
Some good basketball players came out of Stuart in my day. Grew up in a small area of Orange County between Orlando and Winter Park.

If only you had an egg back then, no doubt you would've instead invited him over for some peached pulled pork and had the job and a promotion on the spot.
    Love you bro!

It all worked out. Life is good, made even more so, with the BGE and the expert insights shared on this forum.
Pulled Peached Pork is just one of the sprinkles on this cake.
