Looks like a OTG ashpan.  The newer kettles are chinsy, compared to pre 2000ish kettles where they used a thicker gauge all around.  

All depends on the price.  If it's 1500, no f'n way.  I paid exactly 200 for my WSM and used OTG.  220 if you add my JJ.

The new WSMs are going for 3, and OTG at least 150, still much cheaper than this new grill.

Price is supposedly definitely 1500-1800 depending on options.

Devil is in the details - what exactly is it made from and what is included.

Same size as an XL and an XL with all the options a lot of people buy can add up to the Weber's anticipated pricing.

Personally, I don't care if it's handmade from mined stone in Zimbabwe and etched in 24K.  I'm out.  You can even get a nice 1/4" backyard stickburner at 1800.

But I'm sure it will sell, it has the Summit badge.  That alone, is a grand.

I already have a WSM so I am a 1/4 to 1/3 there.  With it you are adding lump about every 5 hours so this thing is some what of an improvement, but not for $1500.  I would buy another XL first.

Have 0 interest in it. Have a Mini Egg, a Large Egg, 2 XL EGGS, a gasser that exists solely for CI seasoning, a small Weber Kettle, a home built stick burner with another in the making shortly...

I have a webber. I use it to cold smoke mushrooms and cheese, and use to hold my BGE accessories.
