@lousubcap I never thought I'd survive the last seven years...
I'm forced to concur. I haven't weathered the liberal/muslim storm so well myself. Like many others, within a few short months of him taking office, I have basically went from riches to rags. Four more years of what we have now and we will all be in the poor house. I enjoy picking and cutting up as much as anyone, but I honestly can't understand how anyone with a job would even consider voting for a liberal. The math simply does not work.

Gee...since Obama took office the Dow has more than doubled so I've done spectacularly well these past 8 years,

    Thanks Obama!

Maybe if a Republican gets in office, you won't have to buy RTIC coolers anymore.

If a Republican doesn't go in, I will be lucky to buy igloo coolers.

Alright, let's hear it.  Who is leaving if x gets elected.  You don't have to know yet where you're going, but who is put my money where my mouth is serious about really moving and for which candidate?

I don't care which scum sucking pig gets elected.  I'm not moving.  While I believe our government is continuing to ruin our great country, I don't see anywhere else I would prefer to live.  And while I really detest my local state politics, I still prefer to suffer under their constant onslaught on my liberties and my paycheck rather than move.  Despite how bad it gets, it's still better than most other places IMO.  Like Dorothy said, "There's no place like home"

Hey Cap - somehow missed this, been up to my ass in renovations. An old salt like yourself might like the Bremerton area, they still tie up some boats there don't they? If you do get out here, we will have to get together and watch the M's beat up on the A's.

Maybe I'm older and wiser (or maybe just jaded), but damn, the choices for you folks seem to be either dumb or dumber this go round. The Republican debates have been the best reality comedy show this year. As the tail of the North American big dog, us Canucks are interested and getting a little scared.

Hmmm.  Unemployment down - Nope.  The labor force participation rate is not accounted for by Obama and you libs.  That means people who have given up looking for a job (possibly due to frustration of not being able to find one for so long) are not counted as being unemployed.  I think I read the true number when you account for these folks is somewhere around 12-13%.  Nola, you like data.  Here's some from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It's from the federal government, so I know you won't dispute it's accuracy.

When my Dad was 10, he could hop on a bus in Washington DC with a 22 rifle to go to the shooting range for practice.  No one on the bus cared.
When I was 10, I couldn't do that, but I could shoot a BB gun in my backyard.
When my son was 10, it was and still is illegal to shoot a BB gun on our backyard.

Don't tell me our country isn't getting worse and worse with nanny laws restricting our freedoms.  I don't care which party is in control, all they ever accomplish is making things worse, not better.

The good things in life come from private enterprise like BGE, & Lump Charcoal, & raw meat.  Well, until Uncle Sam bans BBQing.

It isn't included in CBO nor OMB figures either, and never has been.
Doesn't make sense to me, but that's how it's currently set up.

I understand.  America is tired of the crappy economy.  People have been out of work for so long they've given up.  It's so sad.  Obama and the dumocrats claiming victory for a low unemployment rate is dishonest (as they are) and offensive.

I wouldn't blame the government. Blame the lowest common denominators of our society that are the reasons behind those laws.

Lowest common denominator didn't pass the laws, the government did.  It's not my fault our government has chosen to cater to the LCD, but they have and therefore they are the ones to blame.  We can't outlaw idiots, but we don't have to pass laws that punish the intelligent because of the idiots.

So you can believe what you want to believe, but you're wrong in that my protestations of our government are false "Chicken Little, the Sky is falling/things are getting worse".  They are getting worse.  I've witnessed it for the last 5+ decades and I don't see it changing.  They say "As CA goes, so goes the rest of the nation eventually".  Well, CA is now under  D control, our state assembly and state senate have a super majority to rubber stamp any stupid idea from our D governor.  Hence passing a law giving illegal immigrants driver's licenses and then passing a motor voter law to so everyone with a driver's license is pushed into registering to vote.  Is this what you want for our country?  Illegal aliens having the right to vote.  As our countries population increases, most of that increase is in big cities and those who like to live in big cities are typically D, and believe government is the solution to all problems, so eventually what has happened in CA will happen in the rest of our nation where those who live in NYC, Chicago, LA, Boston, etc will rule and those who prefer the freedom of living on land and away from mega-metropolis will be under the complete rule of those who have no sense of things like freedom and right to privacy.  The current generation thinks nothing of posting their entire lives online and many think the Patriot Act, spying on USA citizens, is a good thing.

No, I'm sorry, I think you are burying your head in the sand if you think things are getting better.  Well maybe they are for you, but they sure as heck aren't getting better for me.  I don't like the government being my MOMMY telling me what I can and cannot do when I'm not hurting anyone, but maybe myself.

eh, more of a rhetorical question.  I don't care how you count, in the best of times things are always worse for some.

extreme partisanship strikes me as ignorant and a huge contributing factor to our inability to solve problems as a country.  economy is good or bad, it's the other guys fault.  it's nonsense to me.  some people want to work, some don't, some only for the right job, some live where there are fewer appropriate jobs.  there are lots of individual stories and circumstances, but to generalize and say it's one political party's fault just seems lazy and perpetuates the problem.

I've held on to my job for 26 years straight.  Must be doing somefin right. Or maybe just lucky.  I have worked with enough people riding the left side of a bell curve and blaming the gov'ment or voters or whatever seems to help them feel better about themselves.  But they suck for us, and f them.  There are some people that are valued for their intellectual acumen, others for their brawn, but those with neither that whine, move on.  Excuses, excuses.
