Fist steaks in CI pan tonight.

I've only used my CI pan a couple times thus far, but after tonight I'm thinking it'll get some more use. First I cooked some sweet potatoes and peppers (on the MM), pulled those and put the CI pan on letting it get up to about 500*. In went some venison backstrap steaks, seared on all sides, then some butter followed by a bunch of garlic and mushrooms. Pulled the steaks and added a bunch of chopped green onions, after a minute or so I poured in 1 cup of redline and let it reduce.
I've rooted my phone yesterday and the new camera isn't all that great so far, so I apologize for the mediocre pics… but take my word for it, this was one delicious steak.
Coming along nicely.

And voila.

Yikes, this camera sucks...

Those venison steaks look excellent. The photos are not @henapple , @cazzy , @Big_Green_Craig quality but we get the point. Sorry if I forgot a few. Some people's photography of their food is outstanding.XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE

this is just a general question for CI pans and searing steaks...prior to adding the steaks to the pan, do you add any oil/butter etc...or do you just sear without? I just picked up a cast iron pan and plan on testing it out Monday night.

@Bart1434 oil the steaks. Butter in the pan can end up like this:
Which is fine for a black and blue.
