I got 85% correct. I will be honest here though. I only knew about half of them. The other 35% that I got right was a lucky guess. Lucky guess or not, I still did better than you and that's all that matters ;)

I drive a Ford Truck and own a Yeti, but I scored this:Of course, working as a chemical engineer specifically to reduce VOCs from our air, I had better get this, or I would be fired. Ask me about anything else I would more than likely get a zero,
as evidenced by the purchase of both Ford and Yeti.

39% but in all honesty most of my answers were guesses. I'm just a HS educated farm boy, what do I know?

65% also. Lots of the numbers were guesses. Should have gotten the one right about pounds of CO2 from burning gasoline. Heard that on the radio a few weeks ago. I wondered about 2 of the correct answers that I missed. I'll have to look back, but I found a site a few weeks ago when there was the thread about bovine methane emissions. My recollection was that energy production as a whole produced more "greenhouse" gases than agriculture, but that as a portion of energy production, electricity was not a larger portion than all agriculture. Also, the answer that indicated atmosphere, clouds, ice and snow were responsible for reflecting solar energy back into space, leaving the rest to be absorbed by land and ocean was dubious. Both land and see relflect substantial amounts of radiation. Oh well...

  • just giving you props for knowing how to use "whence"

additionally, i always wondered, was it "Christian Science-Monitor",? Like, we have a bunch of Christians here making sure that science doesn't go off the rails.  and as opposed to another religion's monitoring of Science? e.g. "Hindu Physics Monitor" etc.

or is it "Christian-Science Monitor"?, a newspaper about monitoring Christian Science or Scientists?  ...like monitoring Christian people in lab coats who are testing whether it is possible to turn water into wine?

  • How great is it when a pol says "I'm no scientist, BUT . . ." and then either ducks the question or replaces science with voodoo.  As for me, I'm no scientist, but I rely on scientists to know this sht.  That's why I'm ok with my dreadful 52%.

Facts about human farting and global warming

    Did you know?
About 1/3 of human beings produce farts which contain methane gas. Gastrointestinal Gas (Ch. 17 in Gastroenterology, v. 4, 1976)

First of all, if you're a methane producer, congratulations! Second your backdoor trumpet should be revered and worshiped by the rest of us. You should stand tall with your methane producing booty bomb held high. Let your colon cologne waft freely behind you...And let others know that you are a proud contributor to the increase of global warming.

    More: "Did you know?"
    • The average person produces about a half liter of fart gas per day.
    • The average person farts about 14 times a day.
    • Women's farts have a higher concentration of odor-causing gases than men's farts
    FYI

A typical fart is composed of about 59 percent nitrogen, 21 percent hydrogen, 9 percent carbon dioxide, 7 percent methane and 4 percent oxygen. Only about one percent of a fart contains hydrogen sulfide gas and mercaptans, which contain sulfur, and the sulfur is what makes farts stink.
