The new RHCP.  Album is called The Getaway.  Really digging it.
Somehow I've never managed to see them live.  Have made it my mission to catch their show next time they hit Atlanta.

Binge listening to one of my favorite bands:  The Connells.    Drove my family 3 hours to Raleigh, NC from Spartanburg SC to hear them last February.   I scratch my head on how this band never became main stream.

Allman Bro's Idlewild South (their second studio album) has been released in remastered stereo, and glorious 5.1 Bluray Audio.  I'm not a huge AB fan, but Midnight Rider is one of the most hauntingly beautiful tracks ever to come out of Southern Rock; dayam it sounds nice!   B)

    ^^^ and yet...
...just realized it's not the version I was familiar with; bless Ewetube, it was actually from a Gregg Allman solo album from 1973, with the dobro and killer Rhodes playing.  Enjoy!

@Botch If you ever get the chance to visit their museum in Macon Georgia....it is worth way more than the price of admission. Its in an old house they use to live in...great way to spend a few hours.

I know that was an old post, but it made me sigh.  Brings back good memories from when my husband and I were dating.  That, and Dire Straits Why Worry.  Warm fuzzy memories!  :)

But right now I'm listening to Nine Inch Nails -- The Downward Spiral.  He doesn't like NIN, but he's not home right now, so I listen to whatever I want, as loud as I like (without having neighbors call cops!).

Yep.  Stopped there on my way to Florida a couple years ago.  I'm a huge ABB fan so it was a very special visit for me.  Everybody there is amazing, the souvenir shop is second to none and they have ABB pumping through garden speakers throughout the entire grounds.  They have done a fabulous job with the place.

Just finished eating dinner. Some chicken kabobs off the mini max.

Completed an upload of the Grateful Dead Spring 1990 23cd box set on to the computer.  What great shows, and great sound.  It's gonna be a great holiday weekend around the Smart household!

@northGAcock, yeah, I read Gregg's "Not my Cross to Bear".  Really enjoyed it.  I have Galadrielle Allman's "Please be with Me" and Alan Paul's "One Way Out" on deck.  One or both of them will be going on vacation with me in August.

Dead & Company were just in Cincy a couple of weeks ago.  Couldn't go to the show due to being out of town playing golf.  From what I've seen, they are starting off like gangbusters with amazing setlists.

Saw these guys at the Chicago Blues Fest a couple weeks ago.  Had never heard of them before.  Kind of a mix between Gary Clark Jr and The Black Keys.

Okay, I'm not listening to them, yet; they're still recording their debut.  But I haven't been this excited about a "supergroup", in maybe ever:

Clockwise from the top: Stu Copeland (my favorite drummer, from the Police), Mark King (my favorite bassist, from Level 42), Adrian Belew (one of my favorite guitarists, Zappa, the Bears, and King Crimson) and I have no idea who the fourth guy is.
I cannot imagine how King and Stu can work together as a rhythm section, hence my excitement.  This is gonna be EXCELLENT!!
