Celebrating the inlaw's anniversary tomorrow... Picked up an almost 14# strip at Sam's tonight and then sharpened up the butcher knife... Cutting them into steaks tomorrow to be done caveman style for dinner. The family can't wait...
First time buying a piece like this... Should be fun. Going to clean out the egg, probably put in the new firebox, and load it to the top of the fire ring with Rockwood to give me the largest coal bed for this cook...

damn, at that price per pound, that would be the only way I would buy steaks unless the butcher gave me discounts on dark meat. Looking forward to the cook Mr. Hap. Thanks guys... Here are the picks so far. Trimmed, cut them to 1-1/2" and then trimmed again. Using some of the scraps to make mushrooms and onions in red wine to go as a topping of sorts for those that want...
