  • Republicans mistreat women?  Obama's female white house staff make less than the male staff.  Don't fall for the media spin.

Fred, you're so caveman cute with your naivete.   Don't you love your wife?  She is a woman I assume.  Have some empathy.

PS: read the whole article you posted, not just the drive-by-media headline and first paragraph.   Then, please, we can talk about the viagra insurance coverage that's not disputed for men with flaccid members.  Sound good, buddy?

  • Nola - I'm so sorry about your man in the White House only paying the women on his staff $0.77 for every $1.00 he pays men, but that little inconvenient truth uncovered by your beloved NYT proves that Dumbocrats crap on women.  Spin all you want, but that fact has nothing to do with Republicans.  Obummer owns it.  Caveman out.

Didn't you say in a different thread that you didn't believe anything the NYT writes?  So apparently that only applies to facts that contradict what you already believe.  Weak starting point.

Point 2, read more than the first few lines of the article.  It points out a different number for the White House, and it also mentions that federal employees are covered by a specific pay scale - so a male GS13 and a female GS13 in the same location make the same salary.

The Feds, especially the Military, have taken gender out of the pay scale.   Fred,  please please please read the actual article you posted! !

Okay, I'll bite.  The more interesting thing to me is that this same kind of reasoning analysis can be made across the board--referring to article posted by Fred.  You find that whenever you compare wages side-by-side the discrepancy decreases, significantly, or goes away altogether.  Of course, you may find a few anomalies along the way.  The bottom line is that it is over simplistic to simply paint a broad brush over the entire labor market.  Choices of careers, family, etc. all factor in to this wage earning difference.  It is intellectually dishonest to argue otherwise. But then again, intellectual dishonesty seems to be the hallmark of arguments made by the left these days.  That's all I have to say on this topic.  Enjoy.

@Eggcelsior believe me when I say, your political views have nothing to do with if I like you or not. In fact, I'd like to drink some beers with you @nolaegghead and @Sardonicus because I think we all share similar humor.

I'm fairly confident that my sense of humor is far, far sicker than yours and any of the aforementioned.

I'm just a stupid troll on a stupid forum.  I'm actually a registered republican.  I will show anyone who visits my voter registration card.   Also I believe in magic, and scientists all want to get more grants.  Even if they are salary.  Also, since the scientific method has made mistakes before, it's ALL BS. We need more "gut feel" decisions based on how our parents raised us and we need to swim in the right direction - with the flow of the other fishes.

@SGH - We're about to head over to the Westwego seafood market on Bayou Segnette.   It doesn't get much better than that for fresh seafood.  The boats dock right behind the market.

I'm fixing to run down to Desportes and Quality in Biloxi to see what I can pick up to go with my white trout. Both of those places are top notch as well.

@SGH & @nolaegghead   Since you guys know seafood - I'm looking to try cooking some scallops.   Do either of you know if they are decent at RD, or have any tips on purchasing some?  I've eaten a few, but know nothing about buying or cooking and my kid requested that we give them a whirl.

The debates are really more than a little kabuki theatre at this stage, way before the first primary.  I thought Walker and Rubio did quite well, as well as Kasich.  They were the only ones who really seemed to be prepared for the debate and actually had better than average responses.  The real surprise to me was how unprepared JEB seemed.

removing that, you have a valid point. You can't just take 20 people and say men make more than women. I work in a group of 6 and the men make way less than the women but it's because 2 of my partners have 10+ years experience and me and the other guy are new grads. you can't just pull out men vs. women but I didn't read the article.

The scallops that we posted were from Restaraunt Depot in New Orleans. They were absolutely fantastic. I have to say that I have had great luck with RD. As far as sourcing them elsewhere, we have several fresh fish and seafood markets here on the coast. However they don't always have everything as they sale out fast most of the time and this is when RD comes in handy. Their stuff is actually very good.
