All joking aside, glad the dog is okay and the house didn't burn down. Things could have been a lot worst.

Sorry about the egg.
Pissed about the dog tied up - just sayin' . We rescued our Golden that grew up tied up. He has the scars on his back legs to prove it.

I'm still trying to figure out how to reply to Individual comments. I do still have the mini. Diesel is ok and I'm glad he wasn't hurt. The only reason I put him on a chain is because we have an inground pool and even though it's closed right now, it doesn't take long for a nice puddle to form on the cover when it rains. Bulldogs absolutely cannot swim. I will be investing in a doggie life jacket when we open the pool and he's closer to full grown. I didn't take a pic at the time but I will take some of what was not broken which wasn't much. My husband cleaned up the broken pieces. I was too devastated to even try. I thought the lid might have been salvageable, but there were places where is was crushed around the rim. I'll see what he did with them and get some pics of those too. I really appreciate the idea of a fund but I certainly didn't expect anyone to do that or feel obligated to. This was the first place I thought to express my distress because I knew you guys would understand my pain. Lol. I told my kids it probably seems crazy to see someone crying over a broken grill.ShannyShooShooOwner of 1 Mini BGE and 1 Wood-fired Brick Oven.Mother of 4 boys, 1 obese feline, 1 mean-assed chow, 1 rowdy bulldog, and 6 completely spoiled sugar gliders

Doesn't look like Shannon came on here asking for money, just sharing her story and looking for a little empathy, and offering it as a lesson learned so others don't have to learn the hard way.
Carry on, and have a great Feaster Sunday. -
What a bipolar thread. From unbelievably nice to downright rude. Wow. I would pitch in. Not because she " needs" or " deserves" it but because its a nice idea and a good way to help out a fellow egghead. It certainly won't prevent me from helping someone else that might be more in need of something.

Always annoyed when someone uses terms like "devastated" and "state of shock" to describe something so inconsequential as the loss of a grill. I begin reading with true concern and sadness only to find I've been deceived by the title. This won't be popular I'm sure, but grow up!I cook. I eat. I repeat. Thornville, Ohio

Looks like you can buy a ceramic base and be back in business. Might have to work the bends out of the hinge.

Wow, this thread has gone all over the place. I'm sorry if my choice of words--devastated, catastrophe, etc.--offended anyone. That was my initial feeling when I saw my egg busted all over the ground. I bought it with money I saved up over quite some time and I loved it. I didn't know how it had happened until my son said the dog had pulled it off. My concern immediately went to my dog. Yes, I would have been more upset over him than the egg if he'd been hurt or worse. I don't leave my dogs tied up all the time. I have a fenced back yard. I also have a chow who is only restrained when I have company out back because she likes to bite. She hates water so the pool is no concern and she's got the run of the yard. When I'm outback, my bull dog is not chained. He runs the yard with my chow. I never even considered he'd get tangled around the egg nest. He never really goes near it. But accidents happen and I'm certain just about everyone on this forum has had something bad happen because they didn't think out the possibility ahead of time. I did not come on here asking for any money. It was really just to vent because I'd lost something I loved and thought fellow egg lovers would understand. I appreciate all the kind words from and the gesture for a fund. I did not expect anything like that. I can understand the skepticism of some. People get scammed all the time. Will I get another egg? You bet. It will take me a while, but I loved cooking on mine too much not to get one. My mini is great--for me, but won't help much when I'm cooking for 6+. My wood fired oven is nice, but takes 2 hours to get up to temp and uses a crap load of wood. It's not something you can plan to cook on at the last minute. I reserve that for pizza parties and such when I have all day to fool with it. The only thing I wanted from this group was a little encouragement and understanding. For those of you who provided it, thank you. That's worth far more to me than money.ShannyShooShooOwner of 1 Mini BGE and 1 Wood-fired Brick Oven.Mother of 4 boys, 1 obese feline, 1 mean-assed chow, 1 rowdy bulldog, and 6 completely spoiled sugar gliders

Well I was devastated & in shock when my old 2cycle Lawn Boy was stolen (warm) off my carport when I went in for an iced tea break. I think the loss of expensive possessions maybe doesn't rise to level of watching your dog get flattened by a steamroller, but I think the OP's title was just peachyLBGE, AR. Lives in N.E. ATL
