Good round.

Mares looked a little wobbly the last 20 sec there. Santa Cruz started slow, but he's turned it on.
no shortage of action. -
Damn. I wouldn't being there for this one."Too bad all the people who know how to run the country are busy driving cabs and barbecuing." - George Burns

Mares has big heart, but SC is too long for him. And too fast.

That was entertaining. Haven't watched boxing in a while. Worth the price of admission. Mares is a warrior, but just took too much punishment trying to get inside.
-
Same here, YolkMan - haven't followed boxing regularly since I was young. And I'm old. Old enough to remember watching this guy.

That's a little before my time. I remember Spinks, sugar Ray. My late teens were Tyson's heyday. Then came pay per view....

Watching Ghostbusters while offering opinions re value of a signed Complete Works of Goethe, and trying to translate the inscription
Basically he said "He who understands/has Science and Art also understands/has Religion. He who does not, only has Religion"
sounds like NOLA, only two hundred years ago and in German
Apparently there's nothing new under the sun. People have heen arguing this long before Goethe. And much much longer than on this grill forum[social media disclaimer: irony and sarcasm may be used in some or all of user's posts; emoticon usage is intended to indicate moderately jocular social interaction; the comments toward users, their usernames, and the real people (living or dead) that they refer to are not intended to be adversarial in nature; those replying to this user are entering into a tacit agreement that they are real-life or social-media acquaintances and/or have agreed to or tacitly agreed to perpetrate occasional good-natured ribbing between and among themselves and others] -
The same ol' same ol' is hashed out generation after generation. Appeal to the id, blow the super ego, light the torches and sharpen the pitchforks. And the hilarity is not that these people (our people, now, in our country) are doing bad economically or in any general trend, but akin to school of paranoid fish, if paranoid fish worked the stock market, they just go with the flow. And that flow is trumped up as stank.
Basically what I'm saying is most people are idiots. Isn't that what Trump is saying? Although it's a lot more offensive if I say it, as a progressive, fact-lovin', science-humpin' hippy. Or are they just lazy? Because they can not look past the rhetoric?
Over and over the immigrant hate comes out when the kettle of paranoia starts whistling. Note that I'm using emotional terms with analogy.... they mean nothing. But maybe not. What works works. Flark.

. . .
Flark.
I hasten to agree with the above (if applied to Trump's supporters).
BUT . . . then, I remember . . .
. . . that the very same can be said of any candidate's supporters by anyone. Any time, anywhere. And surely has been. And surely will.
Besides - that wasn't the point anyway.
It isn't that 'people are idiots' is " . . . what Trump is saying".
It's what Trump's candidacy is demonstrating.

Happy Sunday, all.
