When your co-workers tell you you need to be getting more sleep... And you prove them right by getting the one on the left confused with the one on the right ....its been a long 2 days  :s

In my defense the labels weren't turned where I could read them

Been at my buddy's house working on my TV stand. A lot of new construction in his neighborhood. Companies gave us permission to scrounge the scrap piles

As of right now I have $0 in it !

    ^^^ Kewl!
As part of my machining lab in college, our ancient professor told us to show up at this other building for the next class, there would be a special guest.

It was his father, 93 years old!  That building housed a hand-powered forge, and he took a 3/8" x 4" rod of steel, heated it up, then took it with tongs over to an anvil, and using the tongs and a sledgehammer, he formed a round, oblong ring.  He heated another rod, brought it over, then formed another ring through the first one.
That's how they made chains, decades ago!  Amazing night, and I'm glad I got to see that in person.  Anxious to hear how your class goes, @GATraveller !

We have a proper blacksmiths shop (do more fab work now but always kept the forge going) in our village, been there for ever. None of the younger family members are interested and it's going to close down.

After a day of non-stop phone calls, headed over to the liquor store.

Woodford was on sale, and my bar was almost out of Vodka.

Light the egg, set the vents, and closed it.

    Butts are rubbed

Yeah, I know there's some light spots there. I'll add more rub before they go on.

Figured it'd take 2-3 hours to install these stabilizer bars on the camper....8hours later finally done. After fighting the instructions for a couple hours, threw them in the trash and googled pictures.

Adapt and overcome! I have little to no patience for poor instructions.

Brined pork tenderloin, Dizzy Pig "Bayou-ish" rub, pecan-smoked direct with acorn squash, and a side of Van Camp's finest.
I normally do tenderloins indirect, just plain forgot this time, and the bottom got a little blackened.  The "Bayou-ish" rub is actually supposed to be "blackened" so I guess that was okay (I really have my doubts that burned spices, much less herbs, impart any kind of flavor to food).
Also learned my local Home Despot is now carrying Royal Oak, $9.96/bag!  All I could get around here was BGE Lump (now north of $30/bag) or Cowboy, which had too much plywood in it when I tried it.  Happy!

Oh yeah, I also tried a different lighting method this time (have always used the fiber/paraffin squares).  Since the KAB was out anyway, I oiled and wadded a paper towel into the bottom, replaced the KAB/fresh lump, and lit via the bottom vent.
The Egg got to temp, and the smoke went clear, in half the time it normally takes.  It's a bit messy, and I normally have plenty of time to wait for the squares, but if I'm ever in a hurry this will be my go-to method.
