I figured you'd have the Backwoods going in the parking lot. Congrats and I hope mama and baby are doing well.

    Roasted Sweet Potato Medallions

What's the lip at the front edge for, is there a base plate of some sort? These seem a reasonable price in US but I can only find on Amazon over here at silly money.

It either has a trough or one can be added for scraping it down and cleaning.

Maybe Blake could show you the bottom? I think there is some support under there to prevent warping.

I suppose the downstand around the edge gives some depth to put a stiffener or 2. I am thinking about making 4 quarter segments for roasting stuff in to give flexibilty on the grid, so the base will cover less area and be less prone to warping, especially if the base is something like 1/8" thick.

The front lip is what forms the built in grease trough.

I have one of those for my Weber gas grill (rectangular model not round).

Here's a better pic of the front of one of their griddles:

Trying to get the smell of burnt macaronia, plastic, and paper out of my house.  The mixture smells like a subway bathroom at 2am.

At least now my kids know why they need to put water in their instant mac & cheese cups.
That's brutal.  I did that in grad school once with a cup of noodles - brutal smell.

Pulling my hair out.  Customers can be the worst!  I have a project for a local company, but the end product is going overseas - to one of the local companies own facilities.  The local manager is going behind his overseas associates back trying to schedule private meetings with us, and the overseas guys are doing the same thing!  On top of that we have the formal meetings where everyone is talking, but not really saying what they want to.  They will just wait until they have us by themselves again.  I don't like dealing with their political garbage.

Is that the Texas equivalent of Sonny's?

Just had to move one of my boats because the *&^%$#@! City of Gretna apparently doesn't like boats on private property unless they're behind a fence or in a building.  Sticker said "Move in 10 days or this property will be seized and auctioned off".

So I moved it to New Orleans (until I get a sticker there).  I can play this game.

    Fence:
a barrier enclosing or bordering a field, yard, etc., usually made of posts and wire or wood, used to prevent entrance, to confine, or to mark a boundary.

@nolaegghead buddy of mine had the same issue.  He looked up the height requirement of a fence in his township. The only requirement was if it was constructed (i.e. not bushes or trees) it could not be higher than 12 feet.  He put a row of bricks around it since it was on the side of his house,  and said that was a fence. Township could not argue until an amendment was made stating a minimum height requirement and had to be "permanent" .  It took about 9 months for that to happen. Kicker? He sold the house 2 months before the amendment was made.  Now a fence has to be 4' high to qualify.  Not sure why - 4 foot is not going to hide anything on a trailer.

He has his boat parked in front of his new house now.

Prolly gotta get a permit for the fence or face fines. Won't get a permit for rocks imo.

Had ad an appointment at the DMV. Luckily we have the option of making appointments, which are actually on time and efficient. Was in and out in less than 10 minutes, while the average wait time for the suckers who don't make appointments was over 1.5 hours.

The wind here is horrible. Not as bad as some places, but 25+ sustained with gust that are much greater.
