Another merger at work.  Mandatory OT now through the start of February. :|
Bummer brother.  I hope it goes fast and that change is good for you besides the OT.
At least the pay check will be nicer.

The weird thing is, is that I am salaried, but a non-exempt employee.  The company I work for is HQ'd in California and while I am salaried, they pay me OT based off my salary and a 40hr week calculation.  I'm not quite sure what the exact designation is, but that's the way it has worked for me.

So the OT will be nice.  I would like to take some time off during the holidays, but I would much rather have this happen now during the winter months than in the spring and summer when I want to be home on my patio and enjoying other outdoor activities.

Dropped off a lamb at the local meat processing establishment. By Friday I'll have leg of lamb, rib roast, chops, etc. Good eats for the holidays. The plan is to roast a leg hanging from a string by an open fire.

Thanks man.  The typical corporate buzzwords are alive and strong here.

My firm's vertical went into her firm's horizontal during the merger and we had an offshoot that was costly for the first 22 years.  Remains to be seen what the  investment will ultimately yield.

Watching a doc on the MTV Channel called Finding the Funk.  Pretty fascinating, and I didn't realize there was a huge core coming out of Dayton, OH, right about the time I was stationed there (I was playing country and rock, and concentrating on jazz clubs on the nights off).

Watching America Reframed, "Will for the Woods", and eating Jr Mints, the way they should always be made, not just Christmas time.

Dr Clark Wang is a hero, a pioneer..putting green burials in the limelight.  Soooooo much respect for this man.  A little shocked, he went out on the vent though.

Nothing makes me more reflective of the Peace and Solemnity of this Christmas Season like the dulcet tones of heralding trumpets:

I had been off the forum for a while, close to a month.  So I had a bunch of PMs and messages.

As I was looking over the messages, I tried to see the post on some that looked interesting.  Most of those were deleted threads.   LOL!  Guess I missed some good times.  Or not.

Lets just say that after the disappointing election results, the last thing on the planet I wanted to do was hang out with a bunch of exuberant buyers of the biggest box of snake oil ever sold and watch them piss vinegar.

  • Awe come on man, we all know you were peeping through the blinds of the forum. I don't know you personally but I would have loved to be a fly on your wall that night. I enjoy (not to be mistaken with 'agree') your views on political issues.

  • Would you have been hanging out with us had the snake oil not have sold? We may have been pissing blood instead.

    I swear, I didn't even peep.

I enjoy randy political banter and I don't get personally enraged by dissenting opinions (like some apparently do).  Or anything, for that matter, that's said semi-anonymously on social media.  Hell, even if I know you, like @henapple, I don't take it personally.  But then he doesn't take it personally when I call him an idiot either.

I was off the forum over a week before the election so it didn't have anything to do with it, although the perceived drama, which I heard about several times from my SMS thread forum friends made me laugh.  I just finished brisket camp III, needed the break from the forum, and was knee deep into fishing, cooking, reading, internal combustion vehicles, etc.

Stupidest thing I have seen today.

The joke that is the University of Louisville Athletics, due to the ongoing antics of both Petrino world famous football coach and motorcycle rider with young blondes and the men's basketball program, rife with Pitino's past indiscretions, and the men's basketball program using prostitutes to recruit, they now have started to do something that makes you think, it can't any more stupid than this:

In order to promote the drive for Lamar Jackson and his quest for the Heisman, they are mailing out red light bulbs to fans to put outside their front doors and have been instructed to leave them on for his support.

On the tortilla curve.  Added a little too much water, balls were too big, but carried on anyways.

The first one broke, cooked it up for a trial...so lovely.

Kitchen and backyard, is smellin' goooood.

Tacos Al Pastor tonight with HyVee shoulder $.99/lb.   Recipe called for 5lb, used about 7, after removing the bone, and a trim job.

A sprinklin' of Dizzy Pig Pineapple Head for the pineapple, tossed it on one hr in.

Full spit.  Comp K, pear, and hickory.  Started at 250, cruising at 350 now.  Pretty damn cold and windy.

Definite room for improvement, but they held the larger portions. lol

One of the best Mexican dishes I have done.

Yeah, that looks fairly edible! Nice!
