Making pies with my wife's 89 yr old Italian grandmother.

@DoubleEgger QUICK! Get all the recipes from her you can! My older Italian relatives died and took their secrets to the grave. Or got Alzheimer's along the way. Boy some great stuff was lost.

That's what I have been doing. I won't make the same mistake I did with my own grandparents.blind99 said:@DoubleEgger QUICK! Get all the recipes from her you can! My older Italian relatives died and took their secrets to the grave. Or got Alzheimer's along the way. Boy some great stuff was lost. -

Dealing a load of ABT's for participation in a crawfish boil: Host spent undergrad years at LSU and overnights around 130lbs of crawfish once a year. Today was the day- (L&SBGE-about 70 total-no photo genius here)

What a great event- thanks for looking. Until next year's event.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
@ lousubcap I am mad jelly! Crawfish are my very favorite.
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

@Ozzie_Isaac - We were lightweights. There were about 25 of us pounding them down and we couldn't wipe 'em out. So I have around 2 lbs with potatoes and corn for breakfast Sunday AM. I may hit LEO in record fashion tomorrow.
But I am up for it...Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Getting a later start than y'all but I've got the St Louis ribs on at 250 with Apple wood for a 3-2-1

@NorthPilot06 looking good! I'm not that far ahead. Put some on at 330. I'm going lazy though, 250 neekid all the way. Maybe some spritz, but thats it.

@Ozzie_Isaac I say 3-2-1 now, but then again, I'm only one beer in. Lots of time for that to change

Apologies for the flash in the photo, but here mine are getting close. Lost a bone already when I took it out of the foil

Just got home from my buddy's place a bit ago. He was attempting the APL beef tenderloin recipe I sent him yesterday. The tenderloin was on the egg indirect and he asks if the glaze goes on when searing. I said, you didn't actually read the recipe, did you? His response... can you take over? Sure... so I pull it out, switch to direct heat, brown all sides, the switch back to indirect.
Here's the only pic I got.
It turned out pretty dang good.
Got some chicken thighs and drumsticks out to thaw for tomorrow and noticed some snow crab legs in the freezer. They are now thawing as well. Watching the Phillies on the left coast now.They/Them

Looking at a house a couple doors down from me on realtor.com and wondering why they are selling a brand new house after living in it for 2 months. Also wondering if I could get a good price on the egg that was pictured on their back patio. I mean, it's heavy. You don't want the hassle of moving that thing again, right? -
Finished rewiring the boat, adding some new electronics. Everything works now (boat was a salvage - sank).
Went out Sat morning, launched at Myrtle Grove Marina around port Sulfur. Tore up reds, almost maxed out and they were good sized

On the water for 6 hours. Put a lot of miles behind us. Fuel used: 6.2 gallons. Would have burned 50 in the big boat.
