Was watching Baseball Tonight this evening on ESPN. The show is partially sponsored by Napolean grills. After the paid promo, they go back to the set and Ravich and guys are still talking grilling where Tim Kurkjian tells the world that he got a Big Green Egg a week ago. Nice plug for BGE on live tv and during a paid Napolean spot, lol!

Don't think this was new post worthy, so I'll put it here. Chicken had a strange texture to it from the creamy marinade (green onion, canola, lemon juice, oregano, white vinegar, salt, pepper, garlic). Shrimp was great though (green onion, lime zest, lime juice, honey, garlic, canola oil, salt, and pepper).
About everything I cooked just didn't come out as I wanted.

Couple of years ago, cousin who manages a Mexican restaurant in Milan, spotted Luke in camo, coming in for lunch in between sits. She got a pic, said he was really nice. Heard him and Aldean come out during the rut.
Stumbled upon this episode on youtube.
Pretty cool to see Moline gettin'rep'd on Buck Commander. And Luke puttin' in "work", cooked ribs with foil on a fire pit, and finally dropped a beast out here.
Good to see them letting some walk too. A philosophy, I'm on board with. Some family and friends are in the "If it's brown, it's down camp", and that's ok.
Glad I wasn't the only one having some movement issues, or lack thereof, last season.

Mandatory mod day before the maiden overnighter for this CL cooker. One of the fun things about owning a WSM......making it better...easier to use
Removed the nonlocking casters the previous owner mounted. No bueno. May revisit at Harbor Freight at some point.
Had an extra WSM guru adapter sitting around.
Stainless 1 3/4" pipe clamps from the HD plumbing dept, and extra charcoal grate from Weber CS to help with burning lump. A kick ash basket if you will. Shake, and save.
Thick copper wire from the electrical dept for the lower grid. Will easily handle 25lbs of butt.
Next was a procedure with the grinder to run probes. No pinching. Touched up with on hand Rustoleum Ultra HH Gloss Black
Cochinita Pibil tonight with La Monarcha Grill Meskeet skeet lump and Ozark Persimmon. She put down two 8.5 lb bags no problem..
And we're off, not skimping with the Persimmon. Feels damn good to have some breathing room compared to the 18. Could easily go with 3 8lbers on one grid.
Dome therm is good, at least good enough for me.
Last was handles for the middle section. 3/4" x 1/8" x 3' aluminum flat stock and Weber handles found on clearance at Farm and Fleet.
A bench vise, grinder, drill, files, pliers, and sandpaper made this happen. Always fun getting your fingers less than an inch from the wheel with the guard off. F'd up two on measuring and figuring out the right bends, had just enough to make two good ones.
Grabbed some stainless 1/4" x 3/4" hex bolts and flange nuts at Grainger. They turned out decent, and I can even hang stuff off them. This procedure will be scheduled soon, along with an Unknown BBQ Hinge.

@Lit I know it was a few days ago but where did you get those tri-tips?Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

@tarheelmatt @Focker some outstanding looking cooks posted here!Love you bro!

@Focker. Looks like you scored the butts before rubbing them, do you always do this? It looks like this creates more bark, correct?Love you bro!

This allows the paste marinade to settle in beforehand. And you can really smear it on thick if desired.
Can't really tell a difference in qty of bark between the two, maybe a little more.
I believe it helps the cap side crispen up.
Makes pulling a little easier not having to break it up much.
Give it a try sometime.BrandonQuad Cities

@northGAcock we both went on Friday. She's overweight and my BP was high. I will say, input in about five pounds on our last adventure, so good thing I got it done.
I'm all good on dogs.
