I think many of you know that I have some livestock along with my buddy at my buddy’s house. The animals, being on a small farm rarely, if ever get medication or antibiotics. My friend has 5 kids and they raise 99% of their own meat (pigs, geese, goats, sheep, cows etc....). Everyone is involved in every part of the process from birthing to castrations to slaughtering and butchering.Well about 9 months ago we had a magalista pig “Fluffy” develop a hernia. We were going to slaughter/butcher her in another 2 months, but we had to expedite the process. Needless to say, because she was a mangalista, she had a perpetually curly tail.Fast forward to this morning with schooling at home. I get this text about Gabriel’s reading assignment from his mother. Gabriel is 7.--------------------------------------------------

Boston butt coated with molasses type mustard then Albukirky Sweet Red rub will be going on as soon as it gets up to temp. Probably a couple of chunks of Maple wood. Already rubbed anyhow. I was about to add charcoal whe I thought I heard the phone ring. Pics to follow. I just bought a BGE drip pan a few minutes ago and rolled up some foil feet for it.

Breathing a huge sigh of relief right now. Got my 6-month insurance bill for my new Audi, which I crunched last November, obscenely expensive to fix.
My bill went up $0.84! I've sung their praises here before, but another shout out to State Farm!___________"When small men begin to cast big shadows, it means that the sun is about to set."

Some people think of new inventions and innovations that change the world on a sleepless night.
I think of things - and then google the idea the next morning. I discover that without google I would probably have accidentally killed or maimed myself...

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

About to self isolate in the car and burn some gas (petrol) on the near empty back roads. Nothing like a spirited run as a calming influence.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
