    Smoking butts in the rain

If that's not the name of a country song it should be.
“If you like pina coladas, and smoking butts in the rain...”
    Love you bro!

You need a hearing aid. The lyrics are “if you like pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain “. Jeez.

@Lit Did you file a flight plan?  What is the target altitude for that rocket?  Perhaps a night launch to enjoy the lift-off.  Have fun as you will probably enjoy more than your kids.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

It’s just a toy. It said 150’ on the box. Pretty sure the kids are just standing there looking at it waiting for me to get home.

I would be ashamed to admit I knew the words to that one Brent. Nice job though if you are correct. I couldn’t tell ya.

I owned that pasta rack for years.... years!!  ...before I realized the center column slid out, revealing a long U-shaped tube that allowed you to lay the noodles onto the rods straight off the pasta roller/cutter.  SOOO much easier!  d'Oh!!

Any reasonable human being today can only hold this place in about the same regard as the Garden of Eden.  I swear this is the best Popeye’s anywhere outside the great State of Louisiana.

I am lucky enough to have a 2 hour layover here on a Friday night.   If I can’t be at home or at Dan Nichols Park, I might as well be here.

And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain….

Not my words, obviously – but appropriate for tomorrow’s last PL games of the season.  Then the barren, endless Summer begins. Except the FA cup final, the promotion play-offs, the CL final, the Europa final, and then the Nations League finals.  Then the long long wait begins, until two weeks after the Nations League when qualifying for CL and Europa Cup begins……..

But, more pressing matters – tomorrow’s games do matter as both Liverpool and City can win the league.    All games start at 3pm, which is how it should be every week.

Brighton v Man City – the big one.  The title will be (mostly) decided by this match. I can’t see beyond 3-0 to City. Brighton have little threat going forward, are safe and we all know the manager will be gone in the summer.    If its 0-0 at half time, then tension will creep in – but come on, really?  You think that’ll happen? I don’t.    3 goals, 3 points and a title for the Manc’s.

Burnley v Arsenal.   Arsenal have nothing to play for and players to protect for the Europa final.  1-0 Burnley and no highlights to show on TV.

Palace v Bournemouth.  Mid-table, meaningless match.  It’s at Palace and two long-term fan favourites are leaving the club.  Expect a party atmosphere.  I think we’ll rediscover a bit of home ground composure and finish on a win : 2-1 Eagles & 49 points – oooooosh!  13 clear of Brighton – despite us giving them 6 for free.

Fulham v Newcastle.  Fulham under Scott Parker are much better since relegation was confirmed. I think they’ll do the ‘Toon 1-0 and most of their team disperses in all directions to other clubs directly after the final whistle.

Leicester v Chelsea. Despite what Chelsea fans will tell you, they’ve had a good season. They’re in Europe and as such have nothing to play for.  That suggests a home win and there are send-offs planned for a few of the remaining PL winning Foxes.  A tad emotional, but undramatic.  2-1 Leicester.

Liverpool v Wolves.  The Reds can still take the title but to do so they must win and rely on City to draw or lose.   Liverpool will win and probably score 5 in the process, but it just won’t be enough for the title. Fun but futile.   Wolves don’t care as they will finish 7th(the Everton Cup) and could well be in Europe next season as a result.  Well done them.

Man Utd v Cardiff.  Warnock waves good-bye to the big time and Ole gets to see Pogba dressed in a red shirt for the last time.  A match of necessity in a season that both teams want to end.  An awful 0-0 feels right, but you can’t rule out a mistake by a Utd player who forgets the briefing and actually puts some effort in and scores, much to the bemusement of his mates.

Southampton v Huddersfield.  Bored now. 2-0 Saints.

Spurs v Everton.  The home team will rest or be without virtually every grown man eligible to play. They don’t need a result unless Arsenal win by 9, and that wont happen.  Limp and protracted low/no scoring snooze-fest.  0-1 with the Toffees finishing the season on a high.

Watford v West Ham.  Nothing to see here.  1-1.

That’s it folks.  I have failed to get this thread sunk, but ball-by-ball updates from the cricket might just do the trick.

Hopefully the Mancs will slip up. I like Klopp and City don't deserve to buy another title.

As for the cricket, what greater joy is there in life than TMS on the radio, especially if we're beating the Aussies in a Test series.

The damn proletariat.  Can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em.  Perhaps I'm being somewhat bourgeoisie.
