Drinking while my wife “sleeps” on the couch. Looking through old pics any of y’all with new kids @Dyal_SC balance bikes are so awesome for kids. My son found my daughters in the garage when he started walking and wouldn’t get off it. He would push it around the cul de sac then when we had to go in he would ride it through the house until we made him go ride it out back then he would cry when we made him get off it. My daughter was not near as good as him but could use it and at 3.5 years old we put her on a 12” bike and pushed her and she never fell until she tried to stop since she couldn’t reach the ground. Anyway here’s a video of him at 21 months at a local bike track for kids. He’s 2 now if he could reach the pedals he could ride a bike he goes like 500’ down the hill in front of our house without touching the ground. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IG7GX0QrHWk

Here he is at 21 months cruising down the neighbors driveway. He now does that then through the cul de sac and all the way down the hill. I also have some good videos of him at the local skate park. They have a kids section that he cruises the whole thing as well as some adult hills. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iqV-giXcIlo

Beautiful day here, so I spent the afternoon seasoning my new wok. I figured as long as it was hot I might as well see what we had around to cook. I found some skirt steak, onions, garlic, and various frozen veggies. I really didn't have a lot but it shows a lot of promise when I actually go shopping for stir fry.

Aftermath from this morning’s hunt. Duck poppers and duck egg rolls as appetizers, Brunswick stew, sous vide goose finished on the grill, and sides. Sorry for the crappy picture, I had to hurry and get a plate before it was all gone. We had a bunch of friends over tonight for dinner!

I've dedicated about 3 hours into the Rolex 24 at Daytona so far. 24 hours of racing is pretty intense. I could cook 2 briskets before the checker flag when putting it into perspective. Crazy.

Reeling. Spent several days at the hospital with my parents. Dad had a checkup and "some numbers" were off. Sent to ER to have some tests ran. An MRI revealed cancer in his abdomen. Can't tell where it originated, but it's the size of a large fist. It has wrapped itself around the bottom of his gall bladder, some of the pancreas, part of an artery and some other things in the area. It's a phucking punch in the gut. He's 67 and just started retirement four years ago.Due to the size of the mass it can't be surgically removed. They scoped him on Friday and got several samples. Should get those results tomorrow and have a meeting scheduled for Tuesday with an Oncologist. It's hard enough to deal with, but was pure hell telling my children.Hopefully it's treatable and reacts to the chemo. My apologies for putting such a downer in this thread, but selfishly it's therapeutic to type it out and get it off my chest. F Cancer!Steve
