Just got back from Enterprise with my rental.  Daughter and I were in a car accident last Saturday (10 days ago). Stopped at intersection to let ambulance with sirens and lights go thru.  All three cars behind me didn't stop.  Car is busted up pretty good.  But more importantly my daughter is fine.  A little shook up, but fine.
You pay your insurance premiums for years, then when you need your insurance it's like pulling teeth.  The aggravation and stress is worse than the accident itself.
Been a helluva week and I know it's far from over yet.
First of all, glad to hear you and your daughter are OK.
Now the fact that idiots weren't paying attention and couldn't stop sucks.
And to make it worse your insurance is being sub-par about not going after their insurance with everything they have while taking care of you makes it doubly worse.

I hope it works out in the end. And once all this is past, you can shop for another insurance provider.

Is five fingers considered a fist?

    Three is a shocker.
Ever ride the Aerosmith Rock'n Roller Coaster at Disney?  Watch the intro video and at the end Steven Tyler throws the shocker.  It makes me laugh everytime.

Thanks.  Definitely will be firing my insurance company.  I've been doing all the legwork.  Spent all day saturday and a lot of time today, coordinating getting the rental agreed upon. Then spent the afternoon calling and getting my car towed to a collision shop I know of and want the work done at.
Being in an accident of that nature with my daughter in the car was horrifying enough.  Having to do all the work afterwards is completely absolutely infuriating and stressful.
I'm still nervous while driving and looking in every direction for an oncoming dumbass.

I've probably ridden that ride a dozen times and it never dawned on me. Also, I had to use urban dictionary to know what a shocker was. I knew the two in, one in definition. I must live under a rock...

Watching some Bizzarre Foods drinking an awesome Rioja... Andrew Zimmern is shooting iguanas with a pellet gun and throwing them on a charcoal grill. I want to try that!

Oh wait - that's not an iguana ;]

My soon to be former insurance policy (home and auto) is with Cincinnati Insurance Company.  Been with them for almost 11 years when I bought my house.  Not a single claim, car or home in that time.
I will be contacting a few companies shortly with Geico being at the top of the list.  I had car insurance through them while in college.  If the home and auto policy is comparable through them, I'll go there.  And get a Berk shareholder policy discount.

What really sucks is, if you were rear-ended, it's not even your fault.  Your insurance company should recoup any money from the folks that hit you.

Agreed x 10! you would think this is the type of claim they would be happy to take. This way they can be all proud of theselves for basically collecting money from the car that hit you. Good to hear your ok. I recently just left esurance. They were awful imo. I basically donated money to them for 4 years. the last straw was when they actually doubled my rate because they said I drive too much. I explained that its not my personal vehichle that I drive to work. They said it didnt matter. Now I have progressive.

I have USAA.  They have been great.  Due to some youthful indiscretion I figure my premiums still have not covered what they have paid out for me.

USAA is by far the best. I wish I could get it.
