My aunt finally decided to part ways with my late Uncle's tools and she called me to come take a look before the auctioneer showed up.

Grabbed some decent stuff. Never can have too many clamps!

Mid pic is a cast iron skillet that will make a great eggcessory. Has No. 3 6 5/8 stamped in the bottom. BSR Century series is what the Google tells me.

    Love that anvil.

Survived day 1 alone with the kids while wife's away on 3 day work trip. She really must think I'm helpless (I am).

I think your wife must be related to mine.  Either that or they’re all using the same wife handbook.  Women are sneaky that way.

She'll nuke it 37 seconds on the dot then leave the bottle on the counter for 20 minutes talking to her mother on the phone.... it's room temp by that point.  I don't question it.

Traveling for work today. Stopped in a pizzeria in small town southern Indiana where I was the only person in the place. I knew I was in a good place when I saw the large bags of Caputo flour piled up on a Shelf and a stack of split wood next to the  brick oven

That's a lady thing. My wife will wash clothes, then when she puts them in the dryer she will dry them for exactly 6 minutes and then the things she doesn't want to shrink she will hang up to air dry and start the dryer again. I asked her why 6 minutes and she said its a system she has. I didn't bother going in to more detailed questioning.

Sometimes I think the in-laws are good people, then I remember those little loaded baked potatoes at our shrimp boil and my blood pressure spikes.

By relying on notes from the wife like @SonVolt posted earlier?  Ha.. it’s a ton of fun right now but a lot of work.  Heading to Palm Springs this weekend which is actually a nice break from the norm because the kids are entertained in a different environment.  Wish me luck!

Drinking a beer and getting ready to pick up the dogs poop before I mow.

And no, not with my hands. I save that for winter when it's frozen ;)

@thetrim - Interesting dynamic and Venus and Mars deal at play here.  Many in the household will focus on the kids (as it should be) but usually only one is focused on cranking out top-notch groceries on a routine basis.  Different levels of magnitude and I get that, but which one draws the attention/comments more frequently?? Sometimes I even get invited into that circle.
Remember, "You are always the parent', or another way," You are never not the parent" thus the priority.  But if you (stand-alone) hose up the food there is no one coming to your pity party.  Thus the detailed suggestions on how to cook a brisket.  No guarantee on the outcome =)  Now that took a while.  FWIW-

Love it.  In your defense you had been known to boil all the verbose minutia down to six words.

One of my biggest regrets in life in not having an eggwhen I lived in Nebraska. Corn rocks on the egg
