This project was started a while back, on a thread you started last year, on a fire pit grill.
I got in touch with Jerry in Montana from Billybob grill, and ordered a bigger version made out of cold rolled. He threw in an extra 7/8" rod for camping. The yard one will be permanent.
Plan is gravel, sand, split firebrick, with a natural stone surround and backwall to bounce the heat.
The stone guy was really helpful today, charged $1.64 ea vs $2 because I'm getting 60, which would cover the wing spread I mocked up.
It won't be cheap, but this pit will be nice when said and done. I can use the firebrick slab to burn leaves in the Fall, which is nice.
The backwall and sides, will be phase 2. I may look around for some free stone.BrandonQuad Cities
