My First Rib Roast
I've had my LBGE for just over a month and thought I'd try my hand at one of these Ribeye Roast Bone In. 2 bones 4.72# for 6 was more than enough
for dinner.
Kept it simple for the rub, Sea Salt, Pepper, Granulated Garlic & Rosemary.
fired up the egg and after about an hour got it stabilized around 270 degrees and popped it in.
I decided to drink some beer and do some yard work so I wouldn't peek. Pulled at IT of 125 degrees
Rested for about 25 minutes loosely tented with foil. The temp kicked up to 138 before I started slicing.
Tried for medium rare but it got closer to medium. Thinking I may try to pull earlier and sear it next time.
Anyway, wife was very happy (Happy Wife, Happy Life) which made it all worth while.

Yum...haven't had prime rib since Christmas.

You did great! I like to give mine a good sear using a very hot fire at the end of the indirect cooking process. Yours is perfect medium to medium rare.Dave - Austin, TX

gacarlos that rib roast looks awesome! Nice cook. I love the look of all that rosemary on there...
Were the ABTs enjoyed by the masses? I want to make them but need to figure out how to get the bacon nice and crisp. How long did yours cook?

thanks, ABT's were for six of us, I could've kept them in for a bit longer but the wife said to pull 'em out bc she was hungry. This pic is 45 minutes at 350 degrees, probably needed to be in there for an hour to get it more crispyKiterTodd said:gacarlos that rib roast looks awesome! Nice cook.
