Fresh Louisiana seafood....
Took the hobie for a quick trip to the marsh yesterday. Nice limit of perfect eating size reds. I will feed them to the egg later in the week.

Nice Reds!!! Hot N Fast or smoking? CI pan blackened are very good on Reds. However you decide I'm certain they'll be a hit!LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Last ones I lit the egg and fired up my @saltworks salt blocks to 700 degrees and cooked them on that and they were good. I'm a fan of blackened too

@Legume I have gotten to where I can't stand on the half shell. I love the fish can't stand to have scales in my plate. I have found other ways to cook it the same way getting the scales out of my plate. Searing it on salt blocks is my new favorite.

Wow. Nice job. You outfitted them kayaks nice. What brand.?

I love them on the half shell. You can scale them a bit before you grill them - helps with the random fall out.tz666 said:@Legume I have gotten to where I can't stand on the half shell. Hobie kayaks in my mind there is no other. Yea I righed it out myself, just fish and you realize what you need where. Fishing has been slow north winds pushed all the water out of the marsh and muddied it up. Typical winter fishing, that was about 3 trips I made a fishing mix tape. Can my wife set the hook or what, she sticks them. A lot of times I fillet them off the skin and put them on foil ongrill them. Now I just use my @saltworks salt blocks and it's the best.

Can't beat them for fishing. I have a 12 and 14 ft wilderness. And a 17ft sea kayak. I don't have a problem fishing out of the 14

I like a sit in up here in Ohio. You stay warmer. Can't roll the wilderness but I do skirt them. The sea kayak is fast as hell on the lakes. I just can't sit that tight for that long anymore. Might sell it. But I have said that for the last five years

Never cooked reds on the egg yet. I have a CI griddle that I put on a propane cooker til white hot. Dredge in butter and coat liberally with blackening seasoning. Drop em on.about a minute per side. Never touches the griddle dances on top. Want to try on the egg. Not sure if I can get the heat I need.
I would much rather be able to say I was glad I did than wished I had........
