How to sell SWMBO on a Mini Max...

For those of you having a hard time convincing SWMBO to get a Mini Max, you can always present it as it's 20% cheaper than a Mini when calculated by dollars/sq inch!

In my market, a mini with nest plus tax is $487.10 out the door. It provides 79 square inches of cooking surface. This comes to $6.17 per square inch of cooking surface.

The Mini Max including the nest and tax is $649.49 out the door. It provides 133 square inches of cooking surface. This comes to $4.88 per square inch of cooking surface.

See honey.... it's a really good deal!

NO selling at my house, my wife loves the Egg and encouraged the Mini Max especially after I told here someone wanted to buy my small.

While I'm intrigued by the Mini Max and nearly bought a KJ jr before I bought my small BGE in May, I don't really need one right now. I may think about trading my SBGE and my Mini for Max at some point in the future. For right now, I'm satisfied and we have a happy home front. We have used the Mini nearly everyday since I got it. Bottom line is I love to cook on my eggs.

Yeah it would be nice but think about the additional expense of raised grid and plate setter.
    Now you are over $700.

For years we used an allowance system. We each had a certain amount of money contributed to the house budget and savings (based upon earnings) and an amount to keep for spending on whatever we wanted. The allowance eliminates griping that each other is wasting "our" money.

I know you were kind of just giving them the business here, but... dropping $650 for a rather small Egg isn't an easy call for everyone here. The thing with SWMBOs is, it can be important to know the difference between having a pair and just being a ****.

It wasnt about the amount of money, thats a financial decision that frankly you know if you can responsibly afford the item or not. The comment was directed to the sentiment on this forum by some that thier wife must be obeyed and they need permission to make daily decisions. It comes across as derogatory and resentful in some cases when guys refer to thier wife in that way but guys submit to it. If thats the nature of the relationship and a guy chooses to live that way then dont whine about it. At least not without checking with SWMBO first to get approval to whine. Flame on.

SWMBO is bull ! If that is your marriage then as Dobie said, you lost your pair. The O should be an R for respect. I don't Obey my wife nor does she Obey me, we have a mutual respect of each other in our marriage.

Perhaps a little levity with the SWMBO term is in order. I'm sure there is a broad spectrum of real meanings when the term is used in a post.  To each his/her own.  Have a great BGE day.

No complaints here though. Mama said :-bd on the MM addition back in June or July so, no complaints. + she lets me get toys frequently and vice versa.
Edit: we jointly make financial decisions. She works her @$$ off just like me. And frankly we make a hellava team. ;)

To each is own for sure , the term obey does not enter either one of our minds here. We are partners and equals.
She makes the money and has never made me feel like I need to ask for anything. We don't do split accounts, mine yours around here. Do I run something by her, get an opinion ....sure.

I think most here are using the swmbo loosely. Although I sure do remember my pop handing over his paycheck to mom to handle any and everything, maybe that still exists. If it does and works for your house ...perfect!
