I assume we are still talking about knives.

Not yet.  And it will be a while.  I'm going out of town for a week for work.

    San Francisco.
However, last night when we sat down to a dinner of leftover pork chops, smashed potatoes, and asparagus, I set the table such that my son's knife was the 8" breaker and my knife was the 14" Cimeter. My wife wanted no part of this and she sat on the other side of the table to avoid being accidentally sliced. Clearly they are not the ideal knives for the dinner table, but they did cut through a leftover, reheated, slightly tough, double thick pork chop like no other knife I have ever used.

Take a couple of mins to visit and say hello to Ms Chan. One very nice lady. Say hello for me. We walked from the Ferry Building. 14" knife at dinner table, I with your wife for the other end of the table. photo photo2_zps7f06a99d.jpg photo photo1_zpse70a10a0.jpg photo photo_zpsd8479a02.jpg

How cool is that to make your own knives!  Definitely way past my capabilities for sure!

If I had picked up metal no knife would happen. I am not a "handy" person. But with a pro and his shop. He is showing you step by step and providing bandaging..... It's not bad

@Mickey, Mrs. Chan says "hi".  I got a wok for my son and a big ol' cleaver to add to my collection of knives I'm not sure I'll ever use.  I recently saw a roadside BBQ guy in Florida chopping spare ribs with one and got jealous...

    Thanks for the recommendation.
