Six Degrees of Bacon

In light of the disappearance of @SGH, I thought it might be interesting to know how many forum members you've "connected" with (ala Six Degrees of Bacon)

I have personally met the following forum members:

@Little Steven

and probably a couple of more that I can't think of off hand.

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

    I can't remember them all, but out of them all, I regret not getting to chat with that one guy who keeps busting my balls about the Salado meet and greet two years ago even though he was too busy helping @Mickey out with the lighting to stop and chat with me. I won't mention names, but you know who you are. ;)

    I was there and we also didn't get a chance to chat, but I didn't get my panties in a wad about it - oh yeah, because I don't wear panties - and I figure I'll catch you some other time... hopefully Salado 2015. Ditto for Caliking.

    @Foghorn no, it wasn't you, but I'm sorry we didn't get to meet. It was just a short drop in as we drove from San Antonio to Dallas. Would have been longer had we not had a flat tire in San Marcos and then had to wait almost 2 hours in Austin to get that changed out (plus another one). Wish we could have stayed longer.

    You're welcome John, actually I picked up more when biking in the neighbourhood few days ago, smaller branches but easier to chop.  Also picked up some sugar maple branches last week from someone who chopped down a tree in your neighbourhood, wanted to inform you but wasn't 100% sure if it's indeed sugar maple, smells nice though.

    I met a bunch of folks at last year's Salado (not this year) and a few here in New Orleans.  If any of you were at Salado, this is what I look like:

    I meant sugar maple tree branches, similar to those used by Basques' charcoal folks.  I'm still skeptical whether they indeed came from sugar maple tree or just an ordinary maple.  Can anyone smell/tell the difference?

    How much is a 17# bag of Basques? How does it compare with Rockwood?

    @JRWhitee  we are in Ontario, Canada.
    This is the more common Basque's because Costco sells it for $12.99 8Kg bag, it was on sale for a week @ $9.99 and many of us stocked up.

    Sorry we don't have access to Rockwood to compare.

    Two or three years age I ordered from Maine Grilling Woods some Sugar Maple. That stuff is out of the world good on hams. With me being in Maine at this time I thought I would go by and pick up some more but they do not receive people (shipping only) so I reorder (free shipping). Where all this is going: Sugar Maple is GOOD wood. Try a Naked Ham where the sugar maple is the only item added.

    Thanks, I saw it here in Atlanta $22.00 for a 17# bag.

    $22.00; wow! I thought the ridiculous difference in prices between Canada and the US was a one way street.
