Broke out the best I have in stock for the initial test of the Yeti lowball.
Passed the no-leakage thru the bottom test just fine.

Nice.  How was bourbon in a metal cup?  That's my one concern - metal makes things taste funny to me sometimes

@legume- I must go forth and let the bourbon breathe longer to give the metal a chance to do its thing if it does.  Sorry but I don't pour or let the Van Winkle sit very often.  I do have some good alternatives that I will put thru the paces.  But likely not tonight

Just opened a bottle of Knob Creek single barrel "reserve" that a buddy sent me this summer.   120 proof w/serial number, small batch.  Was very nice over ice w/water.  This stuff can spoil you. 

He said he is trying to find a bottle of "Pappy Van WInkel" for me to try around the holidays. Will see if that happens.

Thanks, my brother and I went to Vermont (from NJ) on Wendesday, and came home Thurday. We hit 10 Vermont breweries (Whetstoner, Harpoon, Hill Farmstead, Rock Art, Lost Nation, Prohibition Pig, Zero Gravity, Magic Hat, Queen City, and Switchback). Flights/small pours helped keep things sober. Great breweries up there, would've liked to have done more, be we were trying to stick to one night only.

Some more of the beers I got (I was surprised to see Prairie Bomb at a couple places, it's not by me in Pa.)

Not drinking currently.  Was at my cousins wedding last night and had way too many 50 West Speed Bumps and Blaketoberfests.  Ouch.

Too many good college games on today for me not too jump into something here soon though.

Why thank you. I'm quite happy and satisfied tonight. The cab. Was nicely rounded and did pair nicely. A nice change of pace from my usual whiskey.

It has been a long time since I was with the in crowd. The large cubes melt slower so they don't water the bourbon down as much as traditional cubes.
