Which uni is he going to?Eoin said:Blood orange IPA has good sourness, porter for afters. Annoying 18 yo in the background. He's off to study maths at universty in 2 weeks, so it'll be a bit quieter around the house.

Bolo Brown Ale by Burial - the coconut is very subtle, but it's there. Nice, proper brown ale:

@JohnInCarolina he's going to Durham, had a reduced offer from them because he did well in the MAT (extra exam taken early on top of A levels used by some universities as an extra filter) but didn't need it as he got top grades anyway.JohnInCarolina said:

Nope just some backyard neighbors of ours. I was a little worried after the storm hit I hadn't seen any in awhile, but they're back in numbers thankfully.kl8ton said:
Cant hate on Sierra Nevada! Their brewery in Asheville is a sight to behold, gave me a new appreciation for them. -
I like Sierra Nevada. Just not a fan of IPAs.. That looks to say Extra IPA. I can do a Founders All Day IPA and a few others. I prefer the lager, stout, porter, bock type beers.CigarCityEgger said:

Yea this one is pretty hoppy, the regular Pale Ale isn't as heavy on it. Their Oktoberfest this year is quite tasty, they work with a new German brewery each year for a different variation of the Oktoberfest. You may like it if you see it out. Publix currently has their 12 packs for $13.99, if you have any in your area.kl8ton said:

I decided this year I wanted to try a few different Oktoberfest beers import/craft and see how they stacked up (unfortunately not all in one sitting). For the imports I had Warsteiner, Paulaner, Weihenstephaner, Hofbrau, and Spaten. Then had the Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, and a couple local breweries (coppertail/big storm).
What I've noticed is the imports have a much lighter taste to them, where I could probably pound a 6 pack like coors light. While most of the craft versions have more full bodied taste.
