That's the most amazing part. He isn't stupid and I feel this is all calculated. He always seems to do it to SF. Harbaugh must have done something to him. Wasn't it something about Harbaugh spreading rumors to affect his draft status?

    http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/1/20/5319032/richard-sherman-interview-nfc-championship-2014

This was actually a good article about Sherm.  The two videos were good.  He's a smart player and definitely more intelligent than most of the guys playing on Sunday.

My new take on Sherm is he deliberately tries to rub opposing players the wrong way.  I disagree @BYS1981 that he used his communication degree properly last night.  While it's clear a lot of it's facade but he should have turned it off after the game ended.  He should have used that wonderful education and acted like an adult with Erin Andrews.  There is a time to be mentally strategic and time to shut it down.  The shout to Andrews was me me me and he should let his play tell everyone he's the best...cause he is.  Patrick Peterson is a fabulous cornerback and he doesn't behave this way.

I guess any attention is good attention, but at some point he needs to show a humble side on National Television.  He keeps giving people reasons to hate him.  @henapple I really don't think he's a thug, he just purposely acts like one.  That's why when most have come at him or punched/slapped him, he maintains control.

Guys, I am probably older than most of ya'll so I'm a little old school. I don't like the ME attitude that has permeated all sports. He can be a brain surgeon, master marketer and rich but still be a douche. Is it an act? Doesn't matter to me. Act like a man not a 12 year old playing Madden on xbox. Players make a first down or record a sack and then start twerking like Miley Cyrus. He had help and luck. I've heard nobody say that he's extremely lucky the ball didn't end up in a 49er hand. Like I said...I'm old.

Well said. If I may add, a college degree (no matter the school) doesn't necessarily mean a person is smart. Your take on most football players is also spot on. Many could use a good dose of humility IMO.

  • Yes I have a communication degree, suck at typing on a smartphone, and dont care to edit my posts.

I personally think the guy should have just left it at the deflected hand shake, would have looked more professional for the team.

I agree.  He in fact is pretty smart though.  4.2 at HS and 3.9 at Stanford.  The guy could use a million doses of humility.  At some point, he has to learn to let his game speak for itself...but I don't think he'll ever let that happen.  His peers hate him so much, they didn't even vote him into the pro bowl.  That would humble the **** out of me and make me wonder if i'm taking it too far.

Cris Carter trash talked all the time and it never came across like this.  It was playful.

Yeah, I'm with you John. The idea of wasting my valuable cooking time watching football? Crazy.
