There was a time (when I lived in Villa Park Il, late '70s) that Thanksgiving was observed by everyone, stores were all closed, getting ready for the start of the Xmas shopping frenzy on Black Friday. Noticed that tons of retail outlets are open today, guess these retail folks don't get family time, that's a shame.Still, For all those with today and tomorrow off and have the chance to be family and loved ones, have a great Thanksgiving!Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

@Skiddymarker-you are so correct-I cannot stand the chase for the $$. Sad that it has come to this, and it will only get worse. I figure since Thanksgiving is not really tied to any collective disenfranchised group it gets less respect every year! Happy Thanksgiving regardless!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Well, at least it involves the most traveled day of the year.lousubcap said:@Skiddymarker-you are so correct-I cannot stand the chase for the $$. @Eggcelsior - and you can always count on crappy weather making the travel a nightmare. Hope everyone is where they want to be and got there safely.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

@skiddymarker, True true. I think my sentiment came through wrong. I actually appreciate the fact that it's the busiest holiday travel-wise because it shows people know the true value of the holiday. Despite what retailers like Wally world want us to think.
-
@Eggcelsior and @Skidddmarker-Agree 100%! Phque 'em all! Off the soap box.
