As your eggs are in the elements I suggest you don't cover but cap them and leave the bottom vent open after the fire goes out. Avoiding the bidding war!

I've had a similar problem with mold all summer here in NC (it's been super humid) and like the venting suggestions. I've left the bottom open with the screen in place about 1/4 inch and added this high tech attachment to the top and just put my cap over it. The thickness of the wire over the circumference should be enough...

To those "bidding" on MCN's eggs: Don't.
Besides being a major "distributor" for KY, he will keep his eggs. I think his wife used up the last of what will be there.
Its too complex and I'd rather we not go into the details of this.
He is just PO'ed at the fungus. We win. Wife loses. He needs to spend more time with us and fire it up.

Thats a nice piece of equipment, the American Wire Clothes Hanger Council would be very, very proud! Seriously, probably perfect for allowing some minimal and needed air circulation.When I'm not Eggin', I'm scootin' Eggin' and 'cueing from Temecula Ca; an hour from San Diego, an hour and five minutes from Palm Springs, and an hour and a half from Los Angeles (yeah, right.
