I let mine burn for a while after each cook(10min),havnt had a problem, and its been fairly humid. And rainy here! But ill keep a closer eye on things! Didnt even think mold could b a problem! X(

My small egg got pretty moldy after I took out the thermometer and used a cork as a spacer. I put back the thermometer the way it came from the factory and haven't had any issues since.

A few years ago, when I spent a lot of time away from home for work, I had mold grow in mine.  I have not had the problem since I am home every night now.  Cook on it a whole lot more often.  

Thinking outside of the box.  I wonder if one of those large silicone packs that are designed to keep moisture out of gun safes would work?  If they are large enough for a gun safe, I would think it would help.

I still cook about ever week or two. The mold is really driving me nuts. It was just the small because I was using the large, but just got back from vacation an the large was full of it.

Come on @MrCookingNurse you of all people should know that sometimes a failure in the anatomy can be corrected. I was hoping you would be involved with my liver transplant but if you give up at the first sign of difficulty I don't know if I can trust you.

In all seriousness, I hope that you figure out away to make your eggs usable. I would miss you on the forum.

A  clean burn is all you need.  Did you leave anything in the egg? The only time I've found mold inside a cooker is when I forgot about a water pan with pork butt drippings in one of my drum smokers for a few months. 

Don't sell em...  No matter how drunk you get!
