@sumoconnell, I wish so I could kick some ass into gear. My wife is a Special Agent for Treasury OIG. She's furloughed. Her mom is works for Customs and Border Protection an is single income. She is working but not getting paid. Insult to injury, our Rav4's transmission just crapped the bed and will be $5,200 to fix. That plus supporting my MIL is crushing our savings(mortgage, student loans, energy bills all come out at the same time) so we've had to cancel going to Eggtoberfest. If this garbage persists, I might have to sell off my snowboards, road bikes, and eggs because we can't afford to lose more savings with 2 little kids. We try to be financially prudent but these mother effers have the gall to shut down the government over a goddam pissing contest. No wonder only 9% of the country approves.

I found some footage of @Eggcelsior 's MIL explaining her fiscal problems with a member of congress and asking for them to be reasonable about solving the problem.

Wow. I didn't even know they still make that, but it was always (along with Goebel) my "don't have much money but want some drinkable beer" beer.
