HELP! I get an email EVERY TIME SOMEONE POSTS!

This is really pissing me off.  I get an email every time someone posts.  I'm assuming this is a bug as all my notifications are turned off (see image below).
Anyone have any ideas?  I can't change my email to a bogus email because they require you to respond to to an email when you change.
I don't see any way around this other than to cancel my account.

When you attempt to change your email, you get an email from this person:

rob.damico@biggreenegg.com

I've emailed him repeatedly and I never get a response.

I'm torn. I want to leave a comment about how sorry I am about your situation...but in turn am adding to the problem.

The only time I get an e-mail is when I bookmark the post.

Tried that too.  I deleted every single one of my bookmarks in hopes that would stop the email flood.  NOPE!

Can you flag the emails as spam so they go to your junk folder?
  • Lemme know if you got a email

That's what I'm actually doing right now, but my email provider still counts that as email and every couple days they threaten to cut me off (Time Warner) because my account is 90% full.

Yup, as soon as you posted I got a notification that you posted.  When I started this thread I deleted over 1,000 emails and I'm already back up to 19 in my junk box.

Check - select at least one e mail option, I suggest the last one the private message notify box. See if it goes away then......

I'm up for anything.  Just cleared my junk box and set private messages to on.  See what happens....

Nope.  2 new emails in the last few minutes from 2 threads I've never viewed or posted on.

I had to find the way to stop the email notifications after my inbox was flooded as a result of starting the "Look what mangrates did to the forum" thread  :((
    1. after logging on, look to the right for "Notifications" just above "sign out", click on "Notifications"...
    2. next look for "Edit Profile" in the same area, click on it...
    3. now look to the left and find "Notification Preferences", click on it...
    4. scroll down a bit and you'll see a bunch of check marks under "Email" and "Popup", removed check marks for whatever notifications you're not interested in, click "Save Preferences".
    5. you're done
    hope this helps

I only get emails if I was the OP on the thread.  If you have a Mac and use Apple Mail, you can set up a rule to automatically delete any message that has, for example, "Support" as the sender.

One suggestion- why don't you sign up for a free email account like gmail.  Change your email in your egghead forum to the new account, then you can respond from your new account.

You shouldn't have to go through all this trouble and I would keep at them to get it fixed...but perhaps this would be a work around.

Do this. I had to do this for my ski patrol account so I wouldn't miss important emails in the jumble of crap I get everyday.

This is great too. You can also set it up to send specific emails to a certain folder using keywords. If you are still having issues, you can do this and just delete the contents of the folder each time, without having to delete each individual email.

Finally got the river of emails to stop.  Through my main email preferences, I BLOCKED/BLACKLISTED all emails with the domain name "biggreenegg.com".  Seems to be working.

Ridiculous that nobody "in charge" of this site will respond and fix this problem.

Dude, limit on email?!  Sounds like Time Warner is a total douch-bag company.  Gmail is free but doesn't have any draconian limits like you're paid service does.  F them.  Get a gmail account - + 10E99 to whoever suggested that.
