Really enjoying reading all the Eggfest stuff and glad to see some of the heavy hitters back posting again...
Since I egged so much on Sunday, we have been enjoying the fruits of that labor so far this week. We will be heading to the shore on Saturday so I am trying to run the fridge down before leaving for the week.
The time away from work is very welcomed and needed. Thinking about applying for a new position at our company; basically becoming the ADA expert for all of our current locations and future builds and project roll outs. Doing the app will likely be the last thing I do before leaving for vacation.
I am going to miss my egg; but I will be able to cook on a Weber Kettle while there so it isn't quite a total sellout, at least there is still charcoal involved
Bourbons and other tasty libations; along with some fine sticks will be also on the agenda. It will also give me a chance to get in a little photography; something I have been missing quite a bit... But most of all; just enjoying time with my family.
I'm sure I'll be checking out the forum via the phone while away; but wanted to wish everyone a great Easter Holiday, or Spring Break, or whatever it is that you celebrate in case I am to deep into my bourbon study

Hap, have a great time. I have to make it another couple of weeks and don't have a coastal area within 1500 miles to go to, and it's still way to cold to go to the lake. I'm going to take the week of the Masters off, hopefully play some golf if the weather cooperates and do a lot of egging.
I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season. -
Enjoy your vacation, and good luck on the new position! BTW, I cannot bring myself to get rid of my Weber Kettle. Too many fond memories.

Hey Hap! - You ever smoke with a Weber kettle? I got a rig called a Smokenator I can mail you if you got an address where you will be. It's not an Egg, but you can smoke and cook low & slows with it. Let me know.Flint, Michigan

Have fun hap! I had a stay-cation last week and it was awesome gardening and making homemade sausage all week. I used to smoke on my webber kettle all the time had a hole drilled in the top for a thermo, build small fire on one side drip/water pan otherside with meat on top. Keep the vents choked down and you can run 275 four about 10hrsFred19Flintstone said:Hey Hap! - You ever smoke with a Weber kettle? Thank you everyone... probably the longest cook I might do would be ribs, so I think the Weber should be able to handle it LOL

Have a good time, Hap ! I have a great Bourbon Chuck Roast recipe, but since you're taking the Weber, I'd suggest cutting the chuck roast out of the recipe.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious
