Well, our son is now 6 months old. ...
The GOOD news: We just found out Friday the Ryan will now be a big brother!
The BAD news: We just found out Friday the Ryan will now be a big brother!
This is me and the boy swimming this weekend!
This was a shock to both of us, we were not expecting a child but i'm sure it will be a blessing. It's going to be tough, (do you have any idea what day care costs for 2 kids in Md!?!?!?)it will be a struggle, but i'm sure it'll be worth it. My free time (what little i've had since Ryan was born) will be even more valuable and fleeting when this newest one is born... Right now we are still kind of shocked and in disbeleife. We wanted 2 kids just not so soon! As always, i'll still try to drop in and see how everyone is doing and post pictures of food and family. Kelly was feeling extremely sick this past weekend, so i've been trying to help out as much as i can with Ryan. Now we are trying to figure out the logistics of 2 kids... having to get another car seat, trying to haul 2 kids in a compact car, getting a double stroller, another crib, sheesh. Needless to say, i don't think i'll be getting any new toys for quite a while. But you can bet i'll be raising my kids right, they'll be eating egged food soon as they can!
Anyways, just thought i'd share. Take care, and thank you.

Congrats Jimmy - Ryan is a cutie

Congrats! We were in the same boat a while back. Our youngest is now 5 months old. Ours are 17 months apart. The way I look at it is it will be difficult for a little while but you'll be done with diapers sooner. It's really not that bad though. I will pass along something to you that was told to me. The work that comes with kids grows exponentially. If one kid doubles the work around the house, two kids are actually four times the work. It's so worth it though!
-
Well congratulations on the good/bad news! Ryan is a lucky fella to have a little sibling so close in age.
-
Jimmy,
Congrats! After a while two is easier than one. Specially if you get two boys.

Congrats and good luck! Same thing happened to me 5 1/2 years ago. There we were having a nice Valentine's Day dinner after putting our 6 month old son to bed, when my wife said..."I'm late". I said "for what??"
The following October we had a daughter! 13 months apart...Irish Twins!
Seriously, it was truly a blessing! You're a lucky guy!

It's been over for a long time...5 grand kids and two more cooking, but at one time I had 4 kids in 4 years.
(twins) It was a bit tough to start, three in diapers at one time, and cloth diapers at that. I washed diapers every night. And folded between changing.
I wouldn't change a thing....even if I could.
Congrats on the news. Nice looking boy.

Thanks Frank, hopefully the second will be as cute!

wow. I think i would rather NOT know that. :P Thanks, yeah, ryan is getting a little older and he's becoming alot more fun to play with... he smiles, laughs, it's definately an amazing thing to watch him grow up. -
Man, i thought 2 kids sounded tough. That sounds easy to 4 kids in 4 years! Thank you!
-
yeah Boatman, i agree. I'm the oldest of 3, my brother is 13 years my younger and my sister is 18 years my younger. For me, it was like growing up as an only child. Still don't have anything in common with my siblings. My brother just got out of High School and my sister just started her freshman year! Crazy...
-
Frank,
Thanks. Someone else said something about irish twins.. What exactly is the meaning? -
Steve,
thanks. Maybe when your pool, hot tub, and gazeebo are done i'll bring my "litter" over to hang out pool side! -
Children are a blessing, but I can see where you were not prepared for this but things will work out, you will see. Congrats.

Congrats, semi-planned is much better than unwanted/unplanned. Just think, you'll be at least a few years younger when your kids want to do things with you, and when they don't need you around and those are precious times.

Thanks Patti, i'm sure it'll be a blessing but it it is pretty stressful at times.... Like you say, it'll work out in the end! thank you.
-
Doug,
This is true. Everyone says how fast kids grow up... guess i should count my blessings and enjoy the time i have with them. -
congrats and condolenses :woohoo: / :(
people have managed over the centuries....
but we didn't have the BGE until lately -

Now day care for 5 kids is expensive. Actually my wife stayed home with the kids and did a 'preschool' for others.
What is really exciting is when our youngest got off of formula then when the youngest got off pampers. Now that was a great time.
Congratulations - that is good news!!!

It's all good news....the rest is just details of life. Enjoy!Judy

The exact meaning is two children born within 12 months or two children born in the same calender year.
We missed it by one month, but we still refer to our kids as Irish Twins!

Congrats. I knew a guy 20+ years ago who was the youngest of 19 kids. His dad had died some years after he was born. Of course they were not all living in the house at the same time due to the age spread. He said you learned quickly that you just don't get up from the dinner table to go grab a bottle of ketsup, cause when you came back, your plate had been cleaned off by siblings. Amazingly, all 19 had not been in one place together since early 1970's and in 1989 all were still alive and well.
It can always be worse! -
What a good looking kid you got.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

Congrats to you, the wife and I have six kids, and it"s been diapers in our house for the past six yrs. ours are 14,10,9,5,3,and 1 & 1/2yr.old. You ain"t seen nothing yet, and yes they do sometime come when not expected. But the Lord is able to help you, ours haven"t missed a meal...Peace...
-
lol, yes, that is true!
-
Thanks Kent. Yeah, it gets to a point where the money you spend at day care isn't worth it... So far, we haven't reached that point yet...
-
WOW! 19 kids!!?!? no thanks. I'd get fixed after about 3 or 4....
-
Thank you! Yeah, he gets his looks from his daddy.
-
Congrats Jimmy
You are blessed -
Sirlancelot,
Thank you. .. i think i could handle 3 kids, but 6, wow, i can't even imagine. Like you said, i'm sure the Lord provides and I guess you figure out a way. -
