A friend of mine has written several books, and publishes news letters focused entirely on wine and spirits, something I believe may be topics of interest to many of you on this forum.

He has traveled the world investigating to understand what makes each spirit unique, the history, the terrains, the process, along with tasting notes you should expect, it is a very personal journey of discovery.

He is a brilliant individual, living here in Louisville Kentucky. He is originally from South Africa, Dutch heritage, a trained sommelier, and cask evaluation expert.

I hope you will find this interesting and worth your time, maybe beneficial. Everything written is peer reviewed. The validity of the information may provide you insight on your next purchase, maybe find a bargain.

I thought I knew a little bit about wine, as My Beautiful Wife and I have pursued wine nationally, as well as globally, and have made some exceptional finds. In comparison I don’t know schit.

Thank you Ron. Hoping all is well. His home bar is like nothing I have encountered at any other private collection.

They host a lot of music events in their home featuring Indie artists. So the liquid does flow, fairly stating; Everything he has recommended seems to have been surprisingly good or a step ahead for some price ranges.

    Stay safe my friend.

I have been a guest at a couple of his tasting events, and he has taught us all expensive bottles are not always the way to go. As a bourbon drinker (not a connoisseur) I have remained loyal to Old Forrester Bottled in Bond. It has been a solid workhorse for us neat or in cocktails. Kind of a Louisville thing, I suppose.

We have given some suggestions to those who wish to do bourbon tours when visiting the area, and love doing it, allowing them to get a decent selection of a wide variety in which to choose.

A couple of things to add to the bucket list if anyone is interested in visiting Kentucky, the month long pre derby party in Louisville, and Bourbon and Beyond, an outdoor music festival with an outstanding list of performers each year.
