Not doing it myself but hired a contractor. Next week my Dad’s shower/bath combo is going to be converted into a handicap accessible walk in shower with grab rails and a seat. He said that it will take a week but he will be alternating days with doing the same at my sisters house. Dad is 95 and my sisters mother in law is 90. I want to do that also but I will need to completely do my larger bathroom.

hope he uses the rails, my stubborn dad made such a stink when i put in a vertical rail to step down into a sunken tub and i doubt he uses it. i know he doesnt use the stair railing going upstairs. the boat dock railing i put in on the ramp he doesnt use at all, wants to carry 5 five gallon buckets full of gear in each hand up and down, wont take one at a time, wont let anyone carry them for him. 83 and stubborn as hell. its not that he hasnt fallen off both or done some hospital stay because of them

    All this past week, weekend.

Gravel Bike needed new shoes, pulled wheels

Unexpectedly found out I was going to need new rim tape as this was shot.

New Tape and a new Valve Core

    Test Ride Time

    Replaced Daughters Faucet

Added these foam inserts to all the Gutters- looking more as a baffle than a gutter guard.

XLBGE, LBGECharbroil Gas Grill, Weber Q200, Old Weber Kettle, Rectec RT-B380, Yeti 65, Yeti Hopper 20, RTIC 20, RTIC 20 Soft Side - Too many drinkware vessels to mention.

Not quite in Austin, TX City Limits
Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.

First?    Love the turtles.    And from silver dollar sized, apparently, at that.

The floor in basement?    Is that an exterior rated or anti-bug treated material?    Seriously......Basements where I come from are sometimes damp.      I'd also have installed Sound Insulation in the walls and Pre-Wired for some kind of GOOD audio system.   Not HTIB (home theater in box).    Good, solid components and stereo at that.    I just did a minor repair cycle on my stereo.   When the contact cleaner shows up, I'll strip it out and reconnect everything with cleaned contacts.    (DEOXIT D5 for wires) and DEOXIT F5 for potentiometers and some delicate switching.    BE Careful with stuff like that.    I may buy new speaker wire and install gold plated spade lugs.    All connections will be soldered and heat shrinked.   Did you know that copper oxide is both BAD for such wiring but is also a semiconductor?

My OLD thread about an Egg Crate Build is going to be upgraded as it has sat out for several years and the Lid needs a rebuild.     Wish me luck, since I glued and screwed when assembled.    Lid as I built it is tilted for rain runoff AND had a wrap-around in such away as water wishing IN would have to flow uphill.....
  • My cut of the 1.8 billion should be at least 10 mil, so I'm not fixin anything, just buyin.

Lazy-ed out and had the Jiffy do a full synthetic oil change on the f150 (the Groupon deal was too tempting)..

welllllllll… Big Red threw a p0171/0174 code pulling out of the parking lot. That’s “lean on both banks..”

causes can involve MAF sensor, vacuum hoses, pcv, oxygen sensor… for starters..

the 1997 model f150s have (fairly common in a lot of vehicles) breather tubes that crack and melt easily, and it IS 29 years old, so I started there. They USED to be cheap. Now, a PCV, grommet, and tube is over $60 with shipping. Gah!

then.. I remembered… Jiffy Lube always wants you to do “a tire rotation” and load the bill. Hell - while I showed them how to open my quick release pan plug, the technician told me my rotors needed replacing (I’d JUST ground them .. sheesh..). Which means they pulled the air filter.

So. Started futzing around the intake. Figured the release for the filter prolly wasn’t seated properly. They can be finicky.

Aaaaaaand… the boot for the MAF cabling (MAF is inside the intake tubing) was hanging loose. That’s AFTER the MAF. Wide open and definitely adding unmetered air. Jiffy janked the filter housing, pulling the boot off in the process.

Popped that sucker back in. Let Big Red sit 20 minutes with the negative terminal disconnected to reset the CEL. And did a few laps around the neighborhood so it could reset the PCM.

BIG test is today - we’ll drive it to TopGolf down the highway and celebrate my wife Stacey’s birthday with family. If the CEL doesn’t come back on.. this’ll be a major win!

Sounds like a side trip to Jiffy Lube needs to be scheduled to let them know how they erred.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Yeah.. yeah.. my mechanic pays me a huge compliment by talking car work with me and I’m medium accomplished on driveway level work, so oil changes are pretty basic, but I was lured by the damn Groupon!

I DID go back to the JL and told them they had the opportunity to see if they’d caused the codes. Dude told me they don’t even CHECK filters like mine, because they don’t sell them. Flat out lie. alaskanassasin said:

That’s a standard double check, even when I do the oil. All good there.

I’ll take a peek at the filter tomorrow - good idea.

Stacey and I did a little highway driving in the truck with the AC on today (Topgolf). Smooth running and idle. No CEL.

Very few own up to their actions these days.
