Just picked this up at Costco.  I’m not a sophisticated bourbon drinker but for 20$ it looked like a deal. I usually just have a couple fingers of MM before dinner

I am no expert but it is very enjoyable, somewhat easyier than my other current after-dinner spirit (Knob Creek Bourbon)

gave up on msrp searches for the year. went for 2 each on what some could say is a modest “gentleman’s markup.” $100 for blantons 750. $80 for eh taylor.  well worth the time i get back

@Buckwoody Egger - I assume you’re just ordering them online through Caskers or whatnot?  I’ve started doing that for bottles I never see in the wild.  No shame in it from my perspective.

had not heard of caskers. looking and they have blantons at $120 and eh at $80 before shipping. so not too too bad. locally i am commonly seeing blantons at $160 grab and go, in a lottery, or some type of bulk buy with other bottles.  this was at a store in atlanta with just a little better convenience price than i usually see for these. elmer t lee is my preference over blantons like many people so it is ridiculously overpriced.

we have been seeing eagle rare and buffalo trace pretty consistently around here for good price limit 1’s.

have you ever had a score using online inventory for allocated one county over for in store. wake abc or something.

Agree with the time value of the $$$.  Great score.  I would buy those at that price point every time.
Got lucky around a month ago at the local Total Wine store.  I only stop in to buy deep discounted peanuts from the Peanut Shop of Williamsburg.  Like $10/can less than the on-line buy.
Guy behind me in the check-out line had an EH Taylor in hand.  I asked how he got it in the store as they go when dropped.  Went back to the shelf and grabbed an EH and a Blantons.  My lucky day.
EH Taylor was MSRP + $10 or so ($55) and Blantons around $80 (MSRP a year ago was about $65) but don't know the current price.
Hadn't seen either (or Eagle Rare) in that store in at least 10 years.  Better to be lucky than good comes to mind.

Seelbach's is another one I'll check on occasion for price-comparisons.

I've never had much luck with online inventory in NC, but I think it's kind of a crapshoot no matter what.

I have seen Blantons on the shelf in my local ABC store exactly once over the past decade.  I've never seen Eagle Rare.

obviously not your local abc but looks like the fish are biting not too far away. the apex abc for example has both eagle rare and blantons on the shelf right now at a nice msrp. car mileage ain’t free but not too bad.

These inventories in my experience aren’t all that reliable.

Yeah I'm not sure what the bourbon analog of Lafawnduh would be.  I don't think I want to find out.

Reminds me of the 8th grade field trip I took to Washington DC as a young lad.  Typical trip for junior high kids, except we also stopped in NYC along the way.

The street vendors in NYC were selling t-shirts that looked a lot like this:

A couple of the guys in our class bought them, and wore them for the entire rest of the field trip, much to the dismay of our teacher/chaperones.  It was glorious.
