    a BGE in a commercial setting is a terrible idea. That is all. That is the post. 
    I agree wholeheartedly. There was one in Raleigh NC, where we lived, that featured their Kamado cooking. The Naked Whiz lived nearby and he actually tried to help them with things. Even with that, they didn’t stay open for very long.

    Thank you!  Someone recently received a flam-bidet or whatever, I remember seeing a post about it quite a while back but couldn't remember what it did exactly.

    @CPFC1905 received one for his B'day last week or so.  
    Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

    And I have got as far as thinking about when I might be using it.   It will happen, but the temperatures have gone south of zero (C) and I don't think of one minute that it's domestic kitchen friendly. 

    Only really the Rotisserie 2.0 needed for the full deck of toys.  But at £250 that'll need some cunning to hide amongst the monthly outgoings.

  • The Inn at Little Washington (which claims 2 or 3 Michelin Stars, depending on the year), has a BGE just outside the kitchen. Saw it with my own eyes. So apparently it can work in some commercial settings. Not every cook has to be a 20lb brisket.

    My best friend took me there a few years back for a birthday. Chef’s table. Neal had done a few stages and services there. AMAZING

    I’m surprised that Muss and Turner actually use them. 98% of green eggs at Atlanta restaurants are just for show. They casually leave them out near the front door.

    resurrecting the dead, but I was reading Michael Smith's Wood, Fire, Smoke and apparently his inn on Prince Edward Island has an array of eggs in the kitchen. Or so I read.

    My wife and I spent the night at The Inn at Bay Fortune and partook in the Fireworks Feast. Chef Smith and his wife Chastity put on a fantastic meal, starting with a walking tour of the farm. I didn't see any Eggs but also did not get a view of the kitchen. They did have a very large open hearth fireplace that was used to prepare some of the courses. 

    If your wife is a huge Anne of Green Gables fan (like mine is), and you find yourself on PEI to check off a bucket list item, definitely make a detour to the Inn and enjoy the feast. The food was fantastic. 
    MMBGE / Large BGE / XL BGE (Craigslist Find) / SF30x80 cabinet trailer - "Ol' Mortimer" / Outdoor kitchen in progress.

    my wife is a redhead, so a trip to PEI would be done ... cautiously... I was there for a couple of weeks back in '76 for the Canadian Scout Jamboree ( @caliking - did I see you there?) and I had a blast. Definitely worth going back again.

    they are great. he also took over the bbq stand at the osage farmer market. business blowing up after winning a food network show. makes appearances at events all the time and works the social media pretty well. 

    he uses and has all the top smokers etc.  one time i saw a weber summit charcoal sitting out back. probably just left there from some random offsite cook but this thread reminded me of that.

    Quite a few years back, I went to a restaurant in one of Chicago suburbs, may have been Schaumberg, that had a bunch of BGE's going. They were pretty much using them as grills so really did not show the Eggs true best talents. Mostly steaks and burgers, pretty good but just not like a good low and slow.
    I have forgotten the name after all these years and likely no longer in operation.

    Be prepared to wait. Slowest lines and service that I have ever seen at a BBQ restaurant. Also, the brisket was a laughable $40/lb last year.
