The things a king will focus on.  Shoe sizes, ballrooms, and DEI.  I guess starting WWIII isn’t enough to occupy him.

Imagine being so insecure and weak that you are laying awake at night angry at a dead man and his wife and also thinking their death had something to do with you?

Just an absolutely psychotic thing for him to post, and most of the media (and his voters) will just shrug it off because it's Trump.

The entire Trump library will be filled with nothing but scandal and illegal acts.

    Two Take-aways:

    1. They didn’t kneel on anyone’s neck, so that is an improvement.

    2. US citizens are not required to carry or present papers unless lawfully detained for suspected illegal activity.

On the second issue, I’m quite certain you’re correct as a matter of law.  The problem is that the people in charge do not seem to be following the law.  See this response (at the bottom) from Greg Bovino, one of the top Border Patrol officials:

Technically he is correct - as a US citizen we don’t have immigration papers to carry. It is sad that he makes the mental stumble to think it means we need to carry papers to prove we don’t need to carry papers.

I suspect we will soon be told that we need to carry our birth certificate at all times because we immigrated form our parents vagina to the USA.

Perhaps that the lady who gave the interview to Vanity Fair has decided to retire to spend more time with her family?

    Possibilities:

    1) we will soon be invading Taco Bell
    2) Trump has proof from the my Pillow guy that the 2020 election was stollen (nod)
    3) the new ballroom will be named after Paramount, and this is totally separate from the $10B donation the Ellison family just made to the Trump library

No way Susie Wiles caves to CHEETO.  Besides CHEETO has moved on the create another Deny, Deflect, Delay deal with Venezuela.
I'm sure tonight will focus on all matter of blathering about greatness that resides in this narcissist's little hands and even smaller Richard.
    A Lede:
"Tonight I stand before you to state that the Western Hemisphere is now poised to enjoy the greatest period of peace, growth and development in history.  Tomorrow I will take the words of Jules Winnfield and act in the manner of The Chosen One: "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee".
    It's a home-run.  Too bad for Jules... =)

Too bad the results of November 5, 2024 or CHEETO would have had to answer to the below:

Jack Smith, the former war crimes prosecutor who obtained two federal grand jury indictments of Donald Trump, told members of Congress Wednesday that his team of investigators “developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt” that the twice-impeached US president had “criminally conspired to overturn the results of the 2020 election,” the Associated Press reported. Smith also said they developed “powerful evidence” Trump illegally hoarded files containing classified documents at his Florida home and tried to block the government from getting them back, the AP said.

Both indictments were dropped after Trump won a second term. A third indictment in Georgia state court over Trump’s alleged efforts to block Joe Biden from taking office in 2021 was recently dropped as well. But a fourth indictment led to Trump being convicted on dozens of counts of falsifying business records in a New York state prosecution tied to hush money payments made to a porn actress.

Smith had sought a public hearing of his testimony before Congress, but Republicans refused the offer, insisting he appear in private.

You called it.  It was like half an hour of “Biden BAD, Your Favorite President (me) GREAT!” but with a lot more yelling.

  • still waiting to see winning approach from the opposition.

no one will ever beat the hater with zero ethics at the hater game, he can always go lower.

so either the dems and “normal america” understand how to wrangle the ebbs and flows of regulation conflicting with or enabling prosperity, what empathy and accountability to promote or ignore, how to accurately report and manage government efficiency, reverse the money impact on politics…

or the old windbag just gets worse and worse at the insult game so the average american doesn’t get the same titillation. add on to that increasingly conflicting himself in such obvious and frequent ways that the average american can see it.

neither side has a platform of addressing issues and we’re stuck in identity politics like a stupid wwf pay per view.

still waiting to see winning approach from the opposition.

I’m not exactly what that’s supposed to mean.

On just a small level, we have the very recent example of extending the health care subsidies.  That’s a very concrete issue that the two parties are quite clear on.  There are many examples like this.  Climate, science, medicine, etc.

My point is that there are real policy differences between the two parties, and they’re not hard to find.  And they’re on topics that have real impact on people’s lives.  See the recent uptick in measles cases as the most obvious example of this.

We have a tendency to say “well politicians in both parties are just as bad or useless” and so forth.  This is an easy take that while may have some truth to it, largely misses the forest for the trees in my opinion.

This used to be more or less true.  Both sides had patriots who were doing what they thought was best for their country.

Trump has changed the paradigm.  He is not a patriot and he doesn’t even do what he thinks is best for himself - his goal is to destroy every perceived enemy, respond in kind to every perceived insult, and use the entire might of the USA to stroke his ego and ruin anyone who even hints that he isn’t a perfect man with perfect ideas and a perfect all knowing intellect.

Plenty of stakeholders in health care, last time I checked.
