Get your Anova orders in while you can at current pricing. Just received an email including the following:
“We've been absorbing costs where possible by renegotiating with suppliers, trimming operational expenses without compromising quality, and cutting into our margins. Despite these efforts, the tariffs represent cost increases we simply can't fully absorb. As a result, most Anova products will see varying price increases in the near future.”

Tariffs don’t incre….. awe, damn. Tried to make a joke, but this **** is just to crazy to believe. Who knew USA couldn’t stand up to a huckster TV personality.
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I suspect we’ll be seeing a lot of other companies issuing similar comms pieces in the coming days and weeks.Ozzie_Isaac said:Tariffs don’t incre….. awe, damn. Tried to make a joke, but this **** is just to crazy to believe. Who knew USA couldn’t stand up to a huckster TV personality. -
I was in the mood to tool shop last night. Years ago my thinking was along the lines of, buying Snap-on via eBay if it’s priced right because chasing a tool truck is too much of a pain and their website is full retail.
I used to like MAC but they were bought by Black and Decker.S-K was a solid compromise, made in the USA, upper mid price range and great quality. So last night I was on the S-K website browsing, and everything looked funny, literally just by looking at pictures of their tools I could tell something was off, sure enough they were bought by a Chinese tool manufacturer in 2021. Bummer.
While reading about the demise of S-K on a tool forum I discovered Wright Tools, made right here in Ohio! I am not sure how many specialty tools they make but I’m excited to see what they offer. If anyone has had experience with Wright Tools feel free to chime inSouth of Columbus, Ohio. -

@fishlessman I don’t have any complaints about the harbor freight 6pt 1” drive other than they aren’t very snug on the nut… I am not impressed with their large wrench set though

my big wrench set is pretty hodgepodge. i like the slugger/hammer designed ones for breaking big nuts loose. that wrench just looks like it will break, did you extend it with a long pipe or did it just break like that

I have an old double ended craftsman box wrench, 1/2-9/16. Love that wrench, fit and finish, angle of the boxes. So I bought a whole set about 5 years ago and they are crap, rarely use them.fishlessman said:alaskanassasin said:Corv said:Proto tools have been fairly reliable for me.

Anyone tried Teflonised foil? First time using it, really slick, hopefully it won't shred the skin.

Ooh. Never heard of it, please report back how well it works; I can think of many places where that'd be useful.Canugghead said:Anyone tried Teflonised foil? I’d be concerned about the potential health hazard.

Sure will. This is too thin for my liking, if it works well I'll get the heavy duty version.Botch said:

FWIW, even the non-Teflon version could be a health hazard. We live dangerouslyDoubleEgger said:I’d be concerned about the potential health hazard.
While generally safe for cooking, aluminum foil may pose minimal health risks, particularly when cooking acidic foods at high temperatures, or when storing them in foil for extended periods. The primary concern is aluminum leaching from the foil into the food, potentially increasing aluminum intake.canuckland -

@Canugghead I love starlink, it has worked flawlessly since I installed it. We had local line of sight antennas, then Att what a joke that was worst customer service I’ve had in 20 years, then T-Mobile hot spot which worked ok, decent customer service but it would drop connection briefly causing swmbo to have to re log into work, alas starlink, I’ve never had to contact customer service so not sure there but we’ve had it for years and never a hiccup.South of Columbus, Ohio.
